Helldivers 2 players selflessly chose to save a group of sick children stranded on Vernen Wells in the last Major Order, opting for this heroic act over unlocking the offered Anti-Tank Mines stratagem (again). In recognition of this charitable act, developer Arrowhead has made one of its own, donating to the real-life organisation Save the Children.
This latest twist in the ongoing Helldivers 2 meta-narrative says a lot about the community, which, despite this scribe's best efforts, clearly has no interest at all in unlocking the high-explosive MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines. Creative director Johan Pilestedt posted a receipt for the donation on Twitter and shared a message of Liberty from the Very Sick Children of Super Citizen Anne's orphanage: "Dear Helldivers, thank you so much for saving us. They told us you made a lot of sacrifices (mines/lives) to help us. We'll always be grateful. Now, we can grow up to become Helldivers, too."
Do you think the community made the right choice in saving the children under Super Citizen Anne's care? Are Anti-Tank Mines just not a compelling enough reward? Make your own charitable donation in the comments section below.

I am glad we saved the kids, but it is a shame those adult and pre-adult workers at the mine factories are out of a job at the moment.
I really wanted the mines, but I (correctly) figured saving the children would be better because the kids would grow up to be future Helldivers.
Generous of arrowhead to donate to a worthy charity. I really like this studio and I love the game.
The fate of all humanity's children are in your hands! 🫵
God these people r so based 🙏 🙌 😆😆😆😆
Great result and the right result
We will get the mines anyway, we are currently taking Marfark which has the mine materials on it so take that and the mines will follow!
4311 = HELL (almost)
The mines were always an automaton trap. 9 times out of 10 they kill more Helldivers than bots.
Outrageous, yet again those pesky kids win and we are without the bombs.
Let's hope we never go to actual galactic war because we would all be killed for this decision
