Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse Remastered was announced at the very start of 2023, and now it finally has a release date. Developer Skunkape Games has revealed it'll be coming to PS4 on 14th August, 2024.
Originally created by Telltale Games for PS3, The Devil's Playhouse is the third episodic entry in the beloved adventure game series from the studio. This remastered version follows similar reworks of the previous two titles, Save the World and Beyond Time and Space, both released a couple of years ago. It's good to have the full set on PS4.
The game's story has Max discover a powerful toy that lets him peek into the future, which draws the attention of many villains who seek the power for themselves. The Devil's Playhouse is another narrative-focused, linear adventure, leaning into its humorous writing and fun characters.
Will you be playing this remaster when it arrives in August? Let us know in the comments section below.

Anything Sam and Max is an auto-buy or auto-rebuy for me.
I remember playing this back on the PS3. It was a fun time but still felt like Telltale hadn't really hit their stride with this style of game. Just don't expect a Walking dead or Wolf Among us, or even a tales of the borderlands and it should be a fun time.
I wasn’t into this season as much as the first two on release, but maybe a second go would change my mind!
@ATaco Sam and Max Hit the Road is still the pinnacle of Sam and Max, frankly. I wish they’d port THAT like Full Throttle and Grim Fandango were.
Sam and Max is some of the best gaming, well, ever, and you cannot convince me otherwise.
One of the best series ever. Insta buy from me.
Strongly recommend this and most Sam & Max games. They’re a great joy.
@dskatter Yep,it's a shame considering Double Fine did remasters of Day of the Tentacle (& Maniac Mansion technically hidden away!),& Full Throttle but no such luck for Sam & Max Hit the Road,or Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade or Fate of Atlantis.
Likewise there was the Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 remasters done by Disney back in the PS3/360 era & GOG/Steam, that'd be welcome too! Oh & the much forgotten Curse of Monkey Island!
The Telltale adaptations were alright, but not quite as the golden era Lucasfilm games were.
