Concord is currently in the middle of the first of two beta test periods, and it's just been extended a little. The early beta, reserved for those who've pre-ordered and those with a PS Plus subscription, was meant to conclude on 14th July, but has been extended to include the 15th as well.
The news comes via the game's official social channels:
As the tweet states, Concord's early beta is now playable through to the following times:
Monday, 15th July, 2024
- North America: 12pm PDT / 1pm MDT / 2pm CDT / 3pm EDT
- UK/Ire: 8pm BST
- Europe: 9pm CEST / 10pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 4am (Tue) JST / 3am (Tue) AWST / 5am (Tue) AEST
- Your Local Time:
So, you still have a bit of time to check out the team-based FPS before it's taken down. It'll return in a few days, when the beta will be fully open to everyone on both PS5 and PC.
Will you be taking advantage of this extra time for the Concord beta? Let us know in the comments section below.

I played the beta
Its just so meh is it trash no is it in anyway memorable no. its the magnolia of video games dull and inoffensive, anything i would recommend nope. i just didnt find it satisfying at all to play. been done before and better its just so more of the same
sorry its a no from me
That's a whole extra day of me not playing it but bashing it instead
I won’t be playing it. I don’t want PlayStation to become a live service brand and I support them for their single player games which they are known for.
Sad to see Push Square counting everyone as ‘haters’ to gain some article traction in a previous article.
You have to make a stand to steer a company’s direction sometimes and if this happens out of Concord’s failure then so be it. We all paid for a console and regularly put money in their pockets for subscriptions and games, and I didn’t do that to support the rise of live service and the neglect of what they’re renowned for.
I will say after getting to the no respawn modes last night it finally started to click for me. I genuinely had a blast with it! I think it might have been a mistake to lock those modes until lvl 6 as the more standard TDM modes are just not great for this game.
I'll try to squeeze some more matches in tonight before it closes as my time will be limited next weekend.
@itsfoz I get your stance but the economics don't lie. Single Player games are getting more expensive to make which means they need to make more sales and there's much less revenue to make outside the initial price because if they started adding mtx there would be a firestorm online. It's one of the reasons why there profit margins are very thin right now.
I do respect that your voting with your wallet but this pivot was always going to happen.
After hearing some positive things I did give it a go and I could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. Did not get beyond Team DM mode and that felt very ordinary. Perhaps the other modes are better but I am turned off by what I’ve played already and deleted it fairly immediately.
@itsfoz I love Sony's single player games as much as anyone and wouldn't want them to stop making them. But I honestly don't get why people seem to grudge them from trying to have a successful online first person shooter. It's something that has been missing from their portfolio for too long now. Do I think Concord will be it? I'm not sure, but I'm willing to give it a chance rather than instantly dismiss it.
A new killzone would be the holy grail for online shooters but..
Hell yeah! Jumping straight on once I get home. It's been a while since I've thought so much about a game while away from it.
The Crew Bonus mechanic is super interesting and fresh - I'm excited about playing a more objective based game mode and seeing how people adapt
People not understanding the importance of live service for PlayStation’s future, and being able to continue making all the amazing 1st party titles is honestly scary.
Not supporting the initiative that will literally fund the current and next generation of games from Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Santa Monica etc.
Its almost as if these people in the PushSquare comments have never read a single article containing Shawn Layden quotes.
Sad times.
@Kevw2006 its the same people that scream Sony needs variety but then when we get variety it's "thats not what I want"
Weird that it's extended just through the morning of a Monday. I tried it a bit over the weekend and found it very disappointing. Another half day wouldn't change my mind.
It says a lot when a closed beta is opened to almost anyone and even extended it one day after ending, pre-orders must be dire for this one and I understand why.
Been thinking about it but I think what really could’ve set this game apart from all the other hero shooters would’ve been a campaign or a single-player mode, it’s baffling that no one has ‘copied’ Splatoon’s release model, with a good fun campaign included with the addictive multiplayer experience, I honestly think this could’ve worked really well for Concord or any other multiplayer game that Sony is currently pushing.
@Jacko11 I don’t agree with that take, now we all should support an initiative we don’t really agree with and pay for a game we don’t really care about only to “fund” the games most people actually want to play? It’s ridiculous.
@itsfoz So, according to your speech, i believe you will buy Sony single player games like Astro Bot, Until Dawn remake, and Lego Horizon yes?
I mean, if you want to "make a stand to steer a company’s direction" and reminds Sony what they're known for then you need to speak with your wallet by buying their current single player games. If Concord failed but you didn't buy Sony single player games then what's the point?
Also forgive me, cause i didn't see your comment where you said you bought single player games like Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Ultros, and Pacific Drive. These games has been promoted a lot by Sony because they're console exclusives with the first two games published and funded by Sony. I believe you already bought one or all of them, yes?
@IOI unfortunately its a reality and its something you’ll have to get used to.
Why do you think they’re so desperate for a hit in the live service genre. 15 games in development to release by 2026 it was said at one point.
@AdamNovice This is true, but it’s also because big studios are always trying to outdo each other by making even bigger games than the last. But honestly, this doesn’t make any sense since most gamers don’t finish these games or even start them because they’re just too massive and often boring.
It’d be much easier to create more, smaller and diverse (fantasy, scifi, action, puzzle, adventure, horror and so on ..) games. This way, there’d be more frequent releases, and the profits would be higher since they’d cover much larger audience with different taste. Higher revenue doesn't necessarily have to come from live service games, but I agree that they are needed because many people love them.
Another commenter mentioned that not every Sony exclusive is liked by everyone, which is understandable, of course. But a crazy amount of money and time goes into these huge games, making it riskier and riskier from a profit perspective. I think the approach I mentioned would be better, but they’re probably scared to make smaller games because they think no one would buy them if they’re only 6-8 hours long...
Not everything needs to be the next God of War or TLoU. Concord is fun for what it is and reasonably priced. God folks need to chill
