A development build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which seemingly comprises the entire game, was uploaded onto a torrent site, and gameplay videos have begun to spread across the internet. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have urged all faithful fans to refrain from spreading spoilers until the game launches in September.
On X, the two teams penned a joint plea to prospective players to stay away from the unsanctioned build, writing: "Our teams have poured years of hard work, passion, and dedication into creating a game worthy of your hopes and expectations, and it's disheartening that many of the surprises we worked to keep secret were spoiled. We're saddened that this build, which will be almost a year old by the time we launch, is how some of our most eager fans will first experience Space Marine 2."
Unusually, this leak has allowed a small core of heretics to band together and engage in multiplayer. PC Gamer reports that more than 500 people have already downloaded the tainted torrent.
At just under two months until release, that's quite a stretch of time for the servants of the Imperium to remain ideologically pure. Remember that the Emperor protects in the comments section below.

Heresy!!! 😬 I will remain pure and uncorrupted to purge the Tyranid hordes this September!
Why are people doing this? I can see myself doing that as a child or early teen. But now I just want a finished game.
@yazzika because some people are just horrors truth be told oh and good luck finding a finished game in this era of gaming..a rare thing indeed.
“Why do people do this” the developers are baffled, while offering a 100€ 4 day early access edition for a single player game.
Why are people such bell ends ..all it takes is one *****
Meh I will just wait for the real release and reviews to see if I'm interested
To be honest, I believe the amount of Warhammer games currently announced fall in the double digits, so I didn't even notice. How can you even tell them apart? I'm calling on Henry Cavill to lecture me.
People are selfish.
They torrent files which is stealing - and we are not talking about taking a loaf of bread. They might be 'poor' but it is a luxury item to have a capable gaming machine, so I call BS on that.
They steal valuable IP to gain leverage and knowledge in the community and might even weaponise their insights to make the product less valuable and spoiled for others. Selfish and vile behaviour.
The only thing that can excuse these any leaking is if the plot is that f****** Abby takes Joel out golfing again. I avoided that spoiler, but ironically that is the one spoiler I would have loved to know, so I could make an informed consumer decision.
@species Yeah thats on the public being stupid enough to pay so much for 4 days early access. This is stealing and maybe destroying the launch a full release.
@species Not sure what being a single player game makes it less acceptable than a multiplayer one.
Early access is bs, whatever title it's on.
I’m buying it no matter what. It’s always an internal leak that gets these things out. Someone was laid a lot of cash..
I will be waiting until the game is finished until I play it, i.e. in a year's time when the Game of the Year edition with all the DLC comes out for a fraction of the launch price. Can't wait!!
I wonder who from development team was so f*cked up to put working build into wilderness.
Got to be an inside job it must have been who else has access to a working build it just won't have been on someone's personal laptop or something. I wonder whoever it was something happened for them to do it has to be a reason
Why not just ban those played IDs? Would make them think twice about playing multiplayer at least.
@Nem true that, its just somehow became a norm in MMOs
@Yagami As I understood at the time, the leaker was shocked at what was unfolding and had I taken a look I would not have bought the game. If anything I feel cheated!
No, that is not comparable of course. Look at it this way: In a leak both the consumer and the creator suffers, unless you reveal its marketing to be lying and misleading. Do you remember the marketing surrounding the release of this game? I certainly do.
