In case you don't already have enough Persona in your life, there's potentially a lot more coming down the pipeline, regardless of which cast is your favourite. Smartphone spinoff Persona 5: The Phantom X has been confirmed for a console release, with a port promised for some time after the mobile version's international launch.
Persona Central brings us the news, citing an excerpt from an offline event held by SEGA, Atlus, and Chinese developer Perfect World in Shanghai on 12th July, which has since been translated and published. Answers provided at the event confirm both an international release of the game and the development of a version for consoles afterwards.
Intriguingly, long-term collaboration plans are in place for Persona 5 Royal, Persona 3 Reload, and Persona 4 Golden, in that specific release order. We were quite surprised to learn how awesome mobile games are these days; take a peek at The Phantom X's gameplay trailer below:

Finally, the fifth P5 game; Persona 5 5.
Now, people cannot get away with saying that being against gacha with its predatory and mindnumbing gameplay and story is wrong.
It is right! Persona 6 is further away because of such aberrations like this.
For me, the wait (for ps6) won't be too bad as I am a newcomer to the series. I could try Shin Tensemi(sp) or an older Persona game, but I feel sorry for those young kids who will get addicted to these types of addictionware
@Yousef- Isn't it the 6th?
P5, P5 Royal, P5 Strikers, P5 Dancing, P5 Tactica and P5X
Unless you count P5 and P5R as one game
Or 7th if we include PQ2 which also features the P5 cast
I'm waiting for Persona 5: Kart, Persona 5: Dark Souls, and Persona 5: Like a Dragon to complete this list 😆
"In case you don't already have enough Persona in your life"
I'm pretty tapped out actually 🤷 the series doesn't feel as special as before, it's been pratically ported to every system in this reality and there's like 15 spin offs of P5 alone.
@PuppetMaster it should go the Mario route.
A mobile gacha game that looks like a mobile gacha game but for some reason it doesn't have a female protagonist option. I wonder what their excuse is this time lol.
The game looks really bad regardless though.
Gotta gatch em all!

I'll try it, but I wish they'd move on from Persona 5.
@Yousef- Lmao don't give Atlus / Sega more ideas to milk Persona 5 or future Persona games 😆
@Tecinthebrain You're not the only one who got burnout with Persona series. I also got burnout after i played P5 Strikers which i didn't finish it. The more Sega / Atlus milk this series, it feels like it slowly lost it's charm.
I’d probably play it, still haven’t finished P5 Strikers yet as I got busy playing other games instead.
I am however loving P3 Reload, probably carry on with P5 Strikes after finishing that and start going through SMTV Vengeance
This is the one and only gacha I actually have ever looked forward to.
@GloriosaDaisy I don't think it looks bad at all; looks just like Persona 5. I'm not sure what the hook is, though. Why play this over Royal?
@EfYI Persona 6 is far off because Atlus made a new IP, in Metaphor. I doubt they have much involvement in this at all, beyond advising the Chinese developer.
Can we get persona 6 plus both smt 4 games remastered or remake for ps5. Also Atlus and Sega can you stop milking p5 already please.
@PuppetMaster you’re right, I had to stop somewhere, else an Atlus spy would strike me down for leaking titles.
@RudeAnimat0r
Fair point. Question still remains are they funded to a degree where they can ignore the creative task that is P6?
With projects like these, I think P6 moves further away in the horizon, but again fair point that Atlus ITSELF are occupied with new IP.
I am sick and tired of the word "Chinese developers" at this point. It is becoming synonymous with gacha-games, it will be to their great detriment if I could help it. Imagine the controversy concerning the use of the term JRPGs, and then you know what will happen everyone associates Chinese developers with gacha garbage. Hopefully, their cries of lament will last as long as Genshin has existed.
My God I am so on the hook with Persona 5. I absolutely love the characters and the world. But I'm not sure about this one.
The music in the trailer does pull me immediately back in to that world but there seem to be a lot of reused environmental assets - and I'm not into Gacha games at all. I steer clear of those almost as much as I do souls-likes. I don't think this one is for me
I disagree with the argument that Persona 6 is further away because of this title though. This is being made by a completely different developer and the thing holding up a new Persona is surely the fact that Persona Team has been working on Metaphor Re:Fantazio
I will try it out. Thankfully, as long as they wont add Homestuck I'm immune to the pull of the gatcha.
Persona 5 is already like 200 hours, so this must be for people that never want to play anything other than Persona. I’m not sure how people can balance other games and the constant flow of Persona 5 spin-offs these days.
@somnambulance
Its not easy, its - not - easy...
Is there an audience for all of these games? PS5 Tactics went on massive sale a couple of weeks after release...
@Yousef-
Actually the sixth.
@get2sammyb
Why not both? Different stories.
@Lup I knew about Royal and contemplated counting it, but felt it wouldn’t make sense.
When your mom tells you "we have persona 5 at home."
I like how the ps5 is pretty much the gacha console now. I am actually looking forward to P5X ever since I saw that reveal trailer. I'll definitely be giving it a try.
