Star Wars Outlaws has gone gold almost two months ahead of its PS5 release date of 30th August 2024, Ubisoft today confirmed. This means work on the 1.0 version of the open world title is now complete and can be pressed to physical discs while Massive Entertainment prepares a day one patch and post-launch DLC.
The official Star Wars Outlaws Twitter account added: "Our team can't wait for you to start exploring the Outer Rim and living the life of a scoundrel — August 30 can't come soon enough!" If you pre-order either the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition, you'll be able to play three days early, from 27th August 2024.
The PS5 open world experience — set in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi — has been the subject of mixed Preview articles after its Summer Game Fest showing. We said: "It's extremely hard to get a read on Star Wars Outlaws from the demo we were shown. The idea of exploring a galaxy far, far away is such an enticing prospect and instead we were presented with extremely linear Uncharted-inspired demos that weren't exactly big on player freedom."
Though, it was argued by the developer the demo represented just a small slice of what Star Wars Outlaws has to offer. Push Square readers remain excited by the prospect, voting it their second most anticipated game for the rest of 2024, just behind Astro Bot.

Let’s hope it’s in a stable condition and no bugs.
Also what visual modes do we have.
I hoping for a 60fps performance mode.
This could be a buy later after patches etc if current releases are anything to go by.
Might give this a miss for a bit as also the following week Astro Bot releases.
Also makes sense for patches and price reduction.
Anyone know if it supports cross-platform saves?
I’d love to play on both my pc and ps5.
@tweaknmod don’t all Ubi games since AC Valhalla support their own cloud saving now? I know I have seen my PS5 save when I load the game up on Xbox
@OldGamer999 - This is from Ubisoft Massive, a dev team who manage to break a 5 year old game with alarming regularity in the Division 2. Stable and bug free are foreign concepts to them.
Why not release a higher version on disc like they did with Stellar Blade.
@Shigurui
Hence my wise old approach to buying the game not on release day.
@Frmknst I know what you mean. I got a book on Audible about 3 months ago and kept putting off listening to it. I just thought I'd listen to it at last - and also incidentally checked my purchase history... and it turns out it wasn't 3 months ago but was actually last October. 😵
Honestly, I can't remember the last time I bought a game upon release. I've been burned so many times in the past that I now never preorder games and wait a couple months or longer for patching before buying.
Gonna be 2024s biggest disappointment... so far. Can feel it in my bones. Love to be wrong but there are too many signs and definitely one I wouldn't preorder, even if I ever did such a thing. I wouldn't be shocked if this pulls a 7 in reviews, but we shall see.
If you are getting this game it will be alot cheaper on black friday.
I can’t wait to get this when it hits the inevitable Ubisoft bargain bin pricing! i.e. in a few years. Because Ubisoft.
Visions Of Mana over this uncreative slop anyday.
@Ichiban who called for the SE bot? real edgy one too!
