The Precinct, the very promising police-based indie we've reported on a few times now, has been pushed back from its previously announced 15th August release date. The PS5-bound title is now targeting a less specific autumn / fall launch, with developer Fallen Tree Games offering an explanation through the game's Steam page.

"This additional time will allow us to fine-tune the gameplay, fix any remaining bugs, and provide the seamless gameplay experience that we set out to create when we first started working on The Precinct," the statement reads.

It's worth noting that the studio consists of just five employees, and The Precinct is a fairly ambitious project, given that it relies heavily on a cool-sounding procedural crime system. If the delay allows Fallen Tree Games to better realise its goals, then it can only be a good thing.

We've actually got an interview with the developer dropping in the very near future, in which we get way more information on The Precinct β€” so be sure to keep an eye out. Until then, let us know if you're ready to hit the streets in the comments section below.
