As previously reported, developer Perfect World Entertainment is planning to port free-to-play spin-off Persona 5: The Phantom X to consoles, presumably including PS5 – but that work’s not likely to get underway until the title’s available internationally. The release is currently available in various Asian countries, like China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Korean, but is now plotting a global launch.

Despite originally being developed for PC and mobile, the gameplay sticks closely to the formula established by the main Persona 5 game, and therefore should transition fairly well to consoles. Speaking at an offline event in Shanghai earlier this month, as reported by Persona Central, there are plans to include more of the environments from the original campaign, such as pyramid and space station. These will be added after the current summer events.

Speaking of which, a new trailer showcases the kind of fun in the sun fans can expect from the release’s latest summer event:

Will you be checking Persona 5: The Phantom X out when it releases internationally – or will you be holding out for the inevitable PS5 port?
