Splitgate blew up for a hot minute back in 2021. In case you forgot, this game — a free-to-play arena FPS in which you could use portals to get the jump on opponents — launched in beta form on PS4, and was an overnight success, with developer 1047 Games struggling to keep up with server demand. The full release of the title came eventually, but it looks like a major announcement in the Splitgate universe is right around the corner.

Exactly what is being hinted at here is hard to say, but it seems like a big deal. While the game has been pretty popular in the background, things have been quite quiet since, so this seems like it'll be a major announcement.
