Here’s further evidence that gacha game Wuthering Waves may be releasing imminently on PS5 and PS4: publisher Sony will be showcasing the game at ChinaJoy 2024 in Shanghai later this month. As spotted by Gematsu, the Kuro Games developed open world outing was included on a promotional flier for the event, which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from 26th July to 29th July.

The full line-up is as follows:

China Hero Project

PS Studios

Third-Party

Wuthering Waves was announced for PS5 and PS4 last year, although we’re yet to see the console version in action. Despite already being available on PC and mobile, dataminers discovered PlayStation symbols in the game’s most recent update, suggesting the gacha hit’s port isn’t far away.

Elsewhere, it’s possible a few other China Hero Project titles will be announced at the event, and we’ll of course update you with any information when it emerges. Sony also confirmed that Dynasty Warriors: Origins producer Tomohiko Sho will be in attendance at the show, presumably to show off more footage from the PS5 reboot.

While Sony has predictably dropped out of Gamescom, it is planning a booth for Tokyo Game Show this year, alongside the abovementioned ChinaJoy 2024. After years in the wilderness, it is nice to see the Japanese giant slowly returning to consumer events – even if it seems to be centralising its appearances around the Asian region for now.
