There's an almost palpable hunger amongst the PlayStation faithful for new IP, as evidenced by this latest scrap that has some salivating. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it piece of footage, some fans have connected the dots between concept art briefly shown in an official PlayStation video and images that emerged after the Insomniac Games hack back in December.
Malaysian Minister Gobind Singh Deo took a tour of PlayStation Studios' Malaysian office recently and posted a brief video on LinkedIn, the hottest social media platform (thanks, PSLS). At around the 24-second mark, you can see the artwork, which appears to be in line with images that have previously emerged. You can get an unfortunately pixelated glimpse here.
Released in 2020 as a launch title for the PS5, Bluepoint's last was the ambitious Demon's Souls remake. That feels like a lifetime ago now, and we would imagine the plucky studio has made some significant progress on its first original IP, whatever it ends up being, and we hope to hear more about it soon.
Are you up for a new Bluepoint game, and an original IP, at that? When do you think we start to hear more about it? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

I'm actually very excited about BluePoint new game even if this isn't theirs.
-Demon's Souls is still one of the most beautiful console games ever so they have the technology down.
-In the last ten years they have been around the work of some of the best devs in the world like Santa Monica, FromSoft, Japan Studio and Respawn. Just like with many other activities learning directly from elite examples gives you better knowledge than learning alone.
-It most likely won't be a service. In theory the studios making services are MM, Haven, Guerrilla second team, the internal team of Jason Blundell and Bend (I know people don't like services lol but I believe Bend can make a good service).
-I'm all in this "possible" art direction.
COVID really ***** up release dates but I trust in the work of BluePoint.
If they think the way the market is going sure. Most likely they will though then what they niche think will work not just because of being bought by Sony either I think they have a goal in mind and will compare to others as many do then making something ambitious, or stand out they all want something movie related or particular of other games, then original and proving it like Indie have to of an audience and us dedicated look around and help Indies out.
With the money they have and Sony security anything is possible but there is a reason we have Astro and Media Molecule, and the rest are what they are of IPs in their corners.
I mean their first IP to now remasters/remakes to now, anything is possible from them and whatever that staff is like now then years ago. Who is working there now.
Whatever Sony thinks works too.
The footage/speculation is fair but I'm waiting as I don't think I'll be impressed either way, I haven't been since 2017, I haven't since 2013+ of these two gens the state of games, the game design, fun factor, genres being safe, boring, brands or whatever other trends or whatever else going on, but if it works for some audiences good for them. Good for the studio to get to make an original IP again too.
I have no interest in Splitterhead, too scary for me but I think it will be excellent and the mechanics/presentation/trailer looked great and is a return from Siren prior.
Still trying to figure out if is a brand new IP never seen before or if is an original game from an existing IP
Demon Souls 2
Sony made a great decision to acquired Bluepoint. So far Bluepoint done a great job with remaster and remake. From GOW HD Collection, MGS HD Collection, Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, ICO & SotC Collection, Gravity Rush remaster, SotC remake, and Demon's Souls remake.
But they also co-developed games like Playstation All Star Battle which imho is a pretty solid platform fighter, ported Flower for PS4 & Vita, and helped Santa Monica with GOW Ragnarok.
So i'm very curious and quite excited to see what Bluepoint can do when they make a new IP.
I bet the people behind the image are having a good time reading all of the ideas and suppositions it's viewers come up with.
Demon souls remake still stands as one of the very best looking games with flawless framerate and pacing, so will be intrigued to see what they do.
This will be their second original game after their debut, Blast Factor. Granted, this is a little more large scale but still.
Well let's hope its good then. Otherwise I fear Bluepoint will have to pack up their brand new AAA offices and crawl back down to the remake basement at Sony HQ.
Cant wait for their new game.
It's a god of war spinoff.
@Perturbator I wouldn’t mind that to be honest. They have proven themselves to be master remake’ers, Demons is phenomenal
It will be interesting to see what king of video games it is.sony first party studio have been extremely quiet.word up son
I think this article might be misleading. Everything I’ve read prior to this said that Bluepoint was working on an original game, not necessarily an original IP. Which leaves hope for it being Bloodborne 2. Though I’d also be happy with Demon Souls 2.
I'd just be happy with a bloodborne remake and not a remaster.
@Northern_munkey Same. Not interested in a remaster. But a prequel is something I would like the most. There's tons of lore there to expand on, Ailing Loran, for ex.
