Star Wars Outlaws is out at the end of August, and the marketing machine is spooling up like the Millenium Falcon's hyperdrive before a hasty jump to lightspeed. Unfortunately, a sizeable chunk of gameplay has leaked, which is always disappointing for the developers, but in this instance, the contraband clip is generating some genuinely positive buzz.
It's an interesting situation, as just last week, Ubisoft dropped a gameplay clip of its own, which punters and prospective players alike quickly deemed "unpolished", whether rightly or wrongly. We won't link directly to the leaked gameplay, as Ubisoft is taking mirrors down faster than we could make the Kessel run (but it's not difficult to find). Still, at least for some interested onlookers (including PC Gamer), it's made them more optimistic about the game.
In the 13-minute clip, you can see some cutscenes, vehicular exploration and city sightseeing. No one thing, in particular, stands out, but some have pointed to the graphics and detail appearing more impressive than in previously seen official and preview gameplay. Others point to an amorphous "vibe" they previously hadn't caught.
Have you seen the smuggled gameplay? If you were a sceptic, has it changed your mind? Evade detection in the comments section below.

I saw some of it. Looks better
I’m excited for this game despite not watching much at all and keeping my head down about it. I’m hopeful it’s a decent 8/10 open world Star Wars game with some pleasant surprises mixed in. If it’s evenclose to the quality of the Jedi Survivor games then we’ll be fine.
@Khayl You couldn’t get in a “Return of the…’?
Just Kidding! Well done!
I think the game looks pretty cool. im far more interested than any other Ubisoft game in years. if its on par with Jedi survivor and fallen order i would be happy with that.
It still looks like a game were the player does what the game tells them to do. And following becomes increasingly popular these days.
I prefer games which let me think tactically and act freely.
Lol "Leak"
Yeah sure.
Looks so much better. I think it will turn out fine - probably 7 or 8/10. Nothing special but I will still be getting it because of the lore and I do like Star Wars
@ExReey Does everything have to be a conspiracy? Insomniac had their entire future slate leaked, this stuff happens a lot.
@Doctor_BK I'm with you buddy, keeping my head down so as not to spoil anything, can't wait to play it!
Just finished watching The Acolyte(not rly, wouldnt go near with a 10 foot pole) and I cant wait for more content of similar quality! Yaay ubisoft!
each new gamer generation have become more entitled and moaning its get worser and worser
what it comes down to is is good gameplay story telling and mechanics and stable framerate
give the game a chance
the 13 mins leaked footage is a compressed video
@Max_the_German I agree with you, but I know a lot of people who hate open world games because they have no guide and prefer to know what they're doing next
@Batesy125s I am tired of them, too. But I like a set of action and an enviroment which allow me totally different approaches. It doesn’t have to be an immersive sim, but a bit of Breath of the Wild in this regard would be nice.
@Lord-Mucus the big publishers caused that problem, not us. They're betting that the Star Wars license has enough clout that they can sell this game for over $100. Pay that for this samey open world Star Wars branded Ubisoft uber-game, or you don't get all of the missions and content. Oh, and also you need to be online. Because they need to call us thieves too.
If they'd have just charged the $70 and let it be, everyone interested would be talking about how refreshing a release Outlaws will be.
@LikelySatan
again it comes down the price you want it cheap but expect developers and publishers and voice actors to work for peanuts
making a game costs
this what you are not thinking about
with respect early 90s some games was as much as $75
Please read

i agree with you with always online this needs to stopped with games like these
most devs work really hard on there games but are lead by donkeys and they get the hate which unfair at best
@Lord-Mucus I didn't ask them to make a game with an insane budget, and most of the games that hit big don't look like RDR2. They look like Fortnite. Or Balatro. Or Minecraft. Or Palworld.
Maybe they should just make a fun game that fills a hole in the market, then move on to making another game.
Beyond that, the industry has taught us that a successful release at the big publicly traded publishers is rewarded with layoffs. The developers should know that as well.
@LikelySatan With Respect
you seem a decent person but have a simple view on how it all works game developers are some of the most abused and overworked staff in the world its can be a cruel industry but also rewarding
All i ask of you is even tho the game is not to your taste or its trash
devs worked on game they tried to create and make it enjoyable
they are not robots there are human pple with families
just show respect for them
@Lord-Mucus of course I respect them. All 3000...
It's unsustainable. There is an inevitably that the AAA model will crash. Either games are made faster by ai and tons lose their jobs, or budgets decrease and more games are made on tighter budgets.
There's zero chance big publishers won't go with the former. At least in the short term. They should all be paying attention to Capcom.
@LikelySatan the crash is already here
shareholders saw how video games was making so much profit during covid ,so many games was green lit to be made
but then as you can see investors want there money and just like microsoft sony and all the rest
pple spending habits have slowed down and with the cost of everything the consumer spending have reduced and they are seeing hardly no return on there investment
so the shareholders once again cut the staff to save money or closure of gaming studios effecting .
gotta make sure there is enough money for shareholders and CEO bosses bonus and million dollars wages
im glad you respect them its good to know
