Ahead of its PS5 release next week, the Trophy list for Astro Bot has been posted to Exophase, and what is noteworthy is the Platinum Trophy description: "Earned all Trophies. Well done and see you in Astro's next adventure!" So, will Astro Bot 2 be out before the end of the PS5 generation? That's a question to ponder now.
Of course, this is more of a friendly thank you from Team Asobi than anything else, but the Japanese developer has set a precedence for teasing future Astro Bot entries in its Platinum Trophy descriptions. For example, the Platinum Trophy tied to PS5 pack in Astro's Playroom said: "Found all trophies in Astro's Playroom. See you in our next adventure!" Now, four years later, Astro Bot is right around the corner.
If you're looking to unlock the Platinum Trophy for Astro Bot, you can view the full list via the link. You'll need to rescue all the Bots in every level, find puzzle pieces, earn 150 prizes from the Gacha Lab, and perform different miscellaneous tasks. The PS5 title releases on 6th September 2024, and should keep you occupied for a little while Team Asobi gets to work on the teased Astro Bot 2 — or some DLC.
Will you be adding the Platinum Trophy from Astro Bot to your digital collection? Let us know in the comments below.

This got me thinking, if the PS5 pro makes an appearance in this game, which is reasonable to think, then the announcement has to come before that right?
I mean if the game does well there wil definitely be a sequel. My whole family loves Astro and I hope there are many more to come. IMO the best non Mario platformer
Perfect, keep'em coming.
Gaming at it's purest form Astro Bot is.
@Batesy125s "if" - I guess the preorders make it a bestseller already!
Probably the game I've had most of fun with since PS5 released. Hope, more of these little gems release in future.
Ps6 launch title
@Tomato_Goose I think I'd have to agree with you to be honest... and still the best use of haptic feedback on any game I've played this gen... which means... we need more team asobi games? 🤣
@J-Dubs Maybe that IS the announcement. Would be properly meta of them
Definitely getting the platinum for this one! And I hope they keep making Astro games for a long time (port the VR game to VR2 next, pls)
Astro Bot 2's planning is already done probably 🤔
PLEASE BUY THE GAME.
If this somehow ends up being a flop it’s a given they’d shut down Team Asobi, but if it exceeds expectations we’ll see Sony investing more in these type of games instead of live services and blockbusters, which imo is exactly what they need.
Final boss is actually the PS5 PRO.
The first game didn’t even come out yet 💀💀💀💀
It would be amazing if Sony would start using the AstroBot games as launch titles for their consoles. Astro is definitely a really cool mascot that a lot of people can get behind and similarly to Nintendo, releasing mascot game with each generation gets a lot of fans onto the platform with a great game to start off! The Astro game that was included with the PS5 is still probably the best utilisation of the Dual Sense pad and I still play it to try and beat my time attack times! Most of my gaming friends are picking this new game up at launch and that is definitely not a normal habit by most of them! This kinda has the feel about Sonic on the MegaDrive for me, it’s a game that lots of people are very excited to play and it’s appealing to a wide variety of people!
@J-Dubs More likely free post-launch DLC imo.
'We're excited to announce PS5 Pro, and right now you can download a free content update in Astro to celebrate!'
I certainly hope for an AB2.... and a 3 and a 4.
I don't think this is really a tease but I'm sure we'll get more Astro after this
This game will be huge
@IOI Precisely!! People absolutely need to buy this; Like you said, if this flops.. then Sony will go hard for these ridiculous live service games and we will never see another platformer..
Remember people: Knack, Sly Cooper, Tearaway, Gravity Rush (somewhat), are all dead because y'all didn't buy it or appreciated enough. I'm fairly certain Ratchet and Clank awaits the same unfortunate fate if Astro Bot fails to deliver.
@Slideaway1983 of course, we do!
I'm guessing there's no trophy in Concord with the same message
Will definitely go for the Platinum, hopefully it’s as simple and fun to get as the one in Playroom.
The game was very cheap to make compared to other PS exclusives. A little success will go a long way, and it's looking like it'll be a big success.
This will be GOTY and may be the first game I am sure will be flawless and awesome. They will deserve all the money they will make.
@Shinnok789 totally agree, something the industry lost years ago. Except Nintendo, gaming has got to serious & boring, also endless openworld, soulslike, roguelite ***** is getting beyond a joke now.
@Sergo would love this to be GOTY if it does then hopefully the industry will F**king wake up. And actually start producing actual videogames again. Instead of the constant cut & paste openworld bore fests.
@IOI Its not my type of game but I think it will be successful. I think its good for sony to have more of these "nintendo" like games on PlayStation. Plus judging by how we are all starved for exclusive PS5 content, I think it will sell reasonably well. But who knows what Sony has in mind as far as what good sells means for this title.
Day one for me baring some sort of disaster, but I doubt that very much.
Crying out for a top quality Sony studio title, so I bet this sells well.
Any idea when the review embargo lifts?
I really would like to see this title review well, and also sell well.
I commend Sony for stepping out into this arena, and looking to push a AAA 3d-platformer title - and a solid effort from the looks of things.
I am not contesting the quality of games like HFW, GoW:R, Ghost Tsushima, Uncharted etc etc... but its great to see Sony rumble in an arean that has previously been governed by Nintendo with the likes of Mario/Kirky etc.
So far, Astro looks to be of a similar quality to the 3D-Mario efforts... which is fantastic.
Fingers crossed it lands well!
@IOI I’m already buying the game. Can’t wait actually. But man do I hate this point and I see it so often. It’s not OUR job to make sure team asobi doesn’t get shut down. If Astro bot can’t sell in early September when it’s only completion on the same day is ace attorney? That’s on them. I’m still hella hyped yo.
If their already teasing a new game then Sony must have overwhelming confidence in it.
@CJD87 I couldn't agree more. I so badly want this to be successful to show Sony that fans want other genres like PlayStation of old. Give me the weird, wacky games alongside their AAA single player experiences. Also, Astro's Playroom is one of my favorite PS5 games and I want Team Asobi to prosper.
@IOI Agreed!
This game is gonna rock!
@IOI I never usually pre-order, but I'm also never as confident a game will be great as I am with Astro Bot. Plus I really want it to do well, and show there is a demand for platformers.
@Maubari I brought Tearaway Unfolded and Gravity Rush 2 at launch :'(
@PeakUnagi I know right? I'm definitely not crapping on those other games I mentioned, as 'objectively' they are a pool of amazing games (Especially Ghost) - but I really do feel that the industry in general needs to branch out more into other genres.
I love Elden Ring as much as the next guy/girl, but it seems nearly every other release these days is a souls-esque title... or developers are trying to chase that Fortnite/battle-royal secret sauce.
3D Platformers were such a popular genre at a point in time, and only Nintendo seems to commit to them in earnest still? Astro-bot landing well could reignite the genre? Might lead to a new Croc...!
@CJD87 Yup, absolutely agree. I love rich, dense storytelling and that's what attracted to me to PlayStation and continues to do so. Those titles will always be mine and their bread and butter. However, I love a vast amount of other genres and I want my first or second party games to capitalize on other genres and be more experimental. PlayStation's earning call highlighting experimental games and Astro Bot's release and reception definitely give me hope for that.
Sitting on the fence with this one. I don't usually buy platformers but this does look pretty fun. I never managed to finish the Astro Bot tech demo as I had a few other games to play at the PS5 launch.
