Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will feature a number of arenas for you to compete in, and a couple of them will be based upon schools never seen before. Obviously, those familiar with the source material will be familiar with Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute, both of which are referenced in the books – but here they are, brought to life, for the first time in the franchise’s history.

As you’d expect, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic is distinctly French, with elegant architecture and draped curtains. Meanwhile, the Northern European Durmstrang Institute looks distinctly Nordic, with its Viking longships and icy waters. In the lore, this school is famous for its focus on the Dark Arts and its exclusion of Muggle-borns, so it’s not surprising to see it portrayed as a kind of cauldron. We wouldn’t want to play here in real-life!

Obviously, you’re already familiar with Hogwarts, but all three schools make up the Triwizard Tournament, of course. They’re just three of the stadiums available in the game, which also includes the Weasley Burrow and Quidditch World Cup arenas.

Remember, this game will be playable for free with PS Plus from 3rd September, and it’ll have a full single player campaign and no microtransactions. Will you be giving it a go? Seek out the Golden Snitch in the comments section below.
