Stellar Blade Dev Expects to Sell More Copies on PC Than PS5 1

Stellar Blade has been a huge success on PS5, but Shift Up is expecting to sell even more copies when the title eventually comes to PC. While Sony played an instrumental role in bringing the release to market, supporting the title with advertising and development assistance, the Korean studio has always said it plans to bring the game to storefronts such as Steam.

Now, as part of a Q&A with investors, it’s said it expects even stronger sales on PC. “We are preparing for the PC release soon so that the Stellar Blade IP can continue, and we expect better results on PC than consoles,” it said, as translated from Korean into English by Google.

PC has been growing as a platform recently, with even Sony putting a lot of effort into bringing its first-party titles to the platform. Just this week, Chinese title Black Myth: Wukong broke records, attracting almost 2.5 million concurrent players at its peak. While we don’t expect Stellar Blade to post those kinds of numbers, it’s guaranteed to do well.

For the longest time, console manufacturers like PlayStation have claimed they’re not competing with PC. But as the market continues to grow, and younger generations choose PC and mobile over more traditional systems, it’ll be interesting to see if that remains the case. At some point, it seems likely that PC will start to steal players away from consoles – assuming that’s not already happening.
