Sony has released a glitzy, high budget live action Astro Bot trailer, which will likely run in movie theatres and on television through the remainder of the year. The spot, while only 30 seconds in length, is excellently executed. It shows people in mundane everyday scenarios, like at a school or in an office. When the eponymous robots arrive, everyone is encouraged to head home and play.
There’s some great Tim Burton-esque use of colour here: the world is quite monotone, but Astro Bot obviously breaks through all that with its outrageously vibrant hues. The slogan, Play Will Find a Way, insinuates that even in the most tedious of routines, there’s still space for unbridled fun. It’s a pretty good commercial and we can imagine it piquing the curiosity of mainstream gamers.
To be fair to the Japanese giant, it’s pushing this game extremely hard. In many countries, it’s setup activations to raise awareness, like a busy mall in Taipei and a train livery in India. All of this suggests the Japanese giant is aiming to make the franchise one of its flagships moving forwards, and the Game of the Year calibre reviews certainly won’t hurt its ambition.
Remember, if you’re playing the game today, then we have a full Astro Bot PS5 guide to help you find all of the secrets and 100% the game. And if you’re still on the fence, you can read our Astro Bot PS5 review for more information.

It's running throughout the holidays? I'm on holiday now so good news!! How did they know?! 🤔😊
Sony promotions of their top tier games is always top notch.
This is so sweet. I love these Playstation CG trailers. They're all great though this one reminds me of the Death Stranding trailer with its mix of CG and real humans.
Please never say "is a whole vibe" ever again, thank you 👍

Nice to see Sony put a lot of marketing push for Astro. But if only they do the same for Puppeteer, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Wild Arms, Patapon, or Forbidden Siren...sigh...

It would be wonderfully ironic if the last little vestige of Japan Studio that Jim didn't manage to murder is the thing that saves PlayStation's spiral of death.
A couple of days ago, the sky was falling. Now everybody’s in good spirits. I really wish the people around here weren’t so reactionary.
I love this game so much and the controller is so cute!
@Kidfunkadelic83 that mantra I live by 😂😂👍👍👍
What is the betting on Sony Pictures is already working on a feature film?
Especially after that financial times article about the lack of IP fully developed at Sony.
