The next big update for Baldur's Gate 3, the so-called Patch 7, has been talked about for months ā and now it's finally within reach. Developer Larian has confirmed that the update will arrive this week on PC ā having previously promised that it would drop at some time in September ā but PS5 players will have to wait just a bit longer.
"With so many changes and new features arriving in this patch, itāll take a little longer to get these to you on console," the studio clarified on social media, over the weekend. Indeed, there's a lot to this update. From significant improvements to split-screen play and Honour Mode, to new and reworked evil endings, there's loads to look forward to.
It's also well worth noting that mod support is coming to PS5 this month. It's assumed that this patch will open the gates ā if you'll pardon the pun ā with full mod functionality being implemented soon after. We'll need the complete patch notes in order to wrap our heads around everything.

It's simply the best game ever made, and it keeps getting better and better. At this rate, it should be eligible for every Game of the Year award this year too... š
I recently finished my first playthrough. I'll do another one if there's any mods I find interesting.
I brought the game and only played a bit before dropping it for other releases. I started up again recently from the start and it seems to have improved drastically. I'll hold off a bit longer to get the very best version of the game - effectively the finished product.
Iām looking forward to it. An ending to my game is finally getting patched in after a year of having a joke of a 40 second stand in cutscene instead.
I'm holding off on my two durge playthroughs until this patch is out on PS5. Good thing I've got more than enough games to fill the gap!
