It's been quite some time since Capcom last piped up about Dragon's Dogma 2. The game's most recent update dropped several months ago, near the beginning of July, and the developer's maintained radio silence ever since. However, with Tokyo Game Show looming — and Dragon's Dogma 2 being named as a title that'll be 'PS5 Pro Enhanced' — Capcom's sprung into life via the game's social media.
The company's confirmed that a new update is "incoming". Its post reads: "We will soon be releasing an update for all platforms that will further improve CPU load, reduce crashes and bring additional adjustments." Granted, it doesn't sound especially exciting — although any performance improvements are more than welcome — but we'll need to see the full patch notes before jumping to any conclusions.
Recently, Dragon's Dogma fans have been caught in swirling speculation with regards to a DLC announcement. Said speculation stems from a number of developer-side updates that have been made to the game's files on Steam — often an indication that work is underway behind the scenes.
It's fair to assume that this upcoming patch will have been the cause of those adjustments — but that doesn't rule out a DLC announcement entirely. Again, Tokyo Game Show is fast approaching, and it makes sense to improve upon the existing release before unveiling some kind of expansion. As always, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
Would you go back to Dragon's Dogma 2 if this patch makes some big improvements? Gather your pawns and dive recklessly into the comments section below.

No longer dogmatic.
I had an extended break from this game, so that’ll serve as a nice call back to its wonderful, weird arms.
Looked forward to it, experienced it, uninstalled it not long after, traded disc in.
Makes the first one look like a masterpiece (which it is, even though it killed 2 fat PS3s)
Looking forward to finally playing this at a locked 60FPS on my €1,200 PS6.
Is there a way to turn off your follower's voices yet and does it play at 60FPS yet?
@Throb
60fps - definitely not yet. No idea if this patch will fix it.
Played the demo when it was put out - definitely thought framerate was in the 'dumpster fire' category. It didnt even need to be a complex area and the framerate tanked to the 40's. Hogwarts legacy looks better and runs at getting on for double that in similar areas.
BWAHAHAAA!!
I never left Dragon's Dogma!!! 572 hours in and I'm still making monster stew and loving it 🤘😁
Bring on new performance updates!! Bring on PS5 Pro enhancements!! Bring on DLC!!
LET'S GET IT ALL, CAPCOM!!! 🫡
I'm waiting for the Pro before I jump back in.
I was fine with the launch version. The fps thing was overplayed. Though any performance improvement is welcome.
@Splat hope you haven't got the physical version 😂
@neillaw I haven't bought a physical game in about four years. Zero regrets.
Loved the game and I'm ready for more of it.
The patch will ""reduce crashes"? So there will still be crashes?
Man, it is amazing being a gamer in this day and age, always something to laugh about.
I still haven't bought it since it isn't finished yet.
GIVE ME DLC, I NEED IT!
