Sony has revealed via a CNET hands on article with the PS5 Pro that "about 40 to 50 games" will take advantage of the upgraded hardware on its launch day with dedicated PS5 Pro patches. In a PlayStation Blog post that followed on from the PS5 Technical Presentation delivered by Mark Cerny, 13 of those titles were confirmed.
We've documented them in our All PS5 Pro Compatible Games guide, but here's the full list so far:
- Alan Wake 2
- Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
- Demon’s Souls
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Gran Turismo 7
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- The Crew Motorfest
- The First Descendant
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
The enhancements each game receives is down to the developer, but we know already some titles will be granted frame rate boosts, improved lighting effects, and boosted ray tracing support. CNET also saw F1 24 running on a PS5 Pro during its preview session, so while it's not been officially listed by Sony yet, the racing simulator does appear to be one of the 50 too. PSVR2 titles will also be improved when played on a PS5 Pro, but no specific upgrades have been confirmed yet.

Can't wait to play Concord on this
It'll be interesting to see how Dragon's Dogma 2 runs on it. Because if the Pro can get that thing hitting a stable 60fps, it's working miracles.
I hope FF16 gets a patch too. With the PC releasing heres hoping. I’ll hold off on my platinum playthrough of Rebirth for the pro.
Excited to see the full list and how the various titles utilise the hardware. While I think the price is definitely far too high, it does seem like this is a very capable piece of kit, so I'm interested to see how it's being leveraged.
@Czar_Khastik Hilariously, you've got to imagine there's a PS5 Pro build of Concord out there, because they definitely would have had access to the hardware and would have been one of the games to support it.
Concord is (was?) a very good looking game, so I imagine it would have looked great on PS5 Pro.
Man, Demon Souls will look even better now. Meanwhile, Bloodborne still hoping it will be noticed by Sony-senpai one of these days
I'm so whelmed over this announcement. Could Sony PLEASE make a virtual presentation that isn't terrible or at least better than underwhelming?
I do hope they show more videos with the improvements in some games, before the preorder starts. Fingers crossed.
I'm excited to see all the Digital foundry analysis on these games.
GT7 with ray tracing, heck yeah!!
And Red Dead Redemption 2 will still be capped at 30fps with checkerboard rendering. Poor Take-Two; if only they could afford to produce a patch. Same with poor old Activision/Microsoft and their titles (CTR, Crash Trilogy, Spyro Trilogy).
Maybe they device has enough raw power for smoother PS2 emulation... baby steps, baby steps, baby steps...
Sonic Frontiers patch to reduce the pop up would be nice.
For fans of The Last Guardian, Sony has a great solution for us to play the game at 60fps: all we have to do is own a disc copy of the game and a PS5 disc drive, then disconnect from the network or delete any patches that were installed. Now we can enjoy the high frame rate with bugs and missing optimizations. No patch needed!
It’s genuinely laughable. What was the point of the PS5 then? They’re trying to tell us that actually the few games we’ve gotten for the PS5 are rubbish and we should have been playing on the £700 console instead? You’re doing the same sitting about for a patch that we’ve been doing since the PS5 came out with regards to PS4 games anyway, what’s the actual point of it all.
Can’t wait to pay £800 to play the last of us remaster remake pro enhanced edition 🥰
@Macpac33 Would be nice. Depending on the dynamic res ceiling it should look alright even without one. Performance mode dropped as low as 720p for battles iirc.
GT7 was the most interesting thing they showed. The game already looks great and with all the stuff confirmed, I really want to see it on my oled but sadly it's not going to happen. Unless someone buys me a PS5 pro lol.
@nessisonett I mean, that's not really what they said, is it? They said PS5 is great but some users would like to be able to pair higher framerates with the higher resolutions.
On the current PS5 you have to make a choice, on the PS5 Pro you can have both.
Whether that's important to you, or worth $700, is the big question. Looking at our polls and reading the comments, it seems there's very little appeal for the majority of readers here.
If it was £600 with a disk drive and a stand I might have considered getting one. No way I’m paying £800 👎
For £800 it should come with the Dualsense Edge controller.
@get2sammyb yeah this is the thing with all the reactions I am seeing everywhere. I 100% agree that this thing is ridiculously priced, especially in Europe, but people acting like they have to pay 800 or 900 $/£/€ for a PS5 now or that this is supposed to be a successor to the PS5 is just silly to me. I do fear what it implies for the PS6 but we'll see when that happens.
Honestly this being Sony I wouldn't have been surprised if they would have released "PS5 Pro" versions of their First Party games again that need to be purchased separately lol
I wonder if they are testing the waters with this for the PS6...Sony could be thinking of dropping discs altogether and charging a high price...
I am so glad this is so meh, like the whole ps5 gen has been so far. Really unremarkable. Will save me eur 800. I am just hoping that MS will do an xb360 on Sony and release the next gen xb with AMD cpu and nvidia GPU for xmas 2025 or easter 2026.
@nessisonett To play PS5 games? Does the existence of this thing make the PS5 null and void?
No, no it doesn't
Surely this was the reason I haven't played Final Fantasy Rebirth yet!
Well played those games I wanted to so I’m not playing them again.
The one that is interesting is AC shadows as it is not out yet.
What was interesting when they showed these games running.
For the £700 they did not actually say look at last of us 2 remastered. Running at full native 4K at 60fps with all bells and whistles.
They never said that, just kept it all smoke and mirrors with quality and performance modes.
Just tells us, is it running full native 4K at 60fps Sony.
So Sony last of us 2 remastered PS5 performance mode is at 1440p 60fps.
Can you just exactly tell me what it will be running at resolution wise at 60fps in PS5 Pro?
You want to spend £700 so tell me what I’m actually getting.
Because I will bet anyone that it won’t be native 4K no tricks at 60fps and no cut backs from quality mode.
@TheDudeElDuderino And you think that will be cheap?
@OldGamer999 They’re saying it’s Fidelity Mode at 60fps. It may also be using the AI upscaler, though.
@get2sammyb
My point.
At no point did they say full native 4K at 60fps at the quality of fidelity mode.
So basically probably some fancy upscaling for £700, that’s a bit steep really.
I want to see Alan Wake 2 and DD2 analysis by DF. I think of anything sells this console it will be those two. The improvements in the Ff7 Rebirth photos posted by one of the directors shows a significant improvement to lighting.
And if I buy it I’ll still just be playing Vampire Survivors all day 😆
I would love to see Diablo 4 of course. GT7 will be really impressive looking. Honestly i hope in time it hits most games cause if i can run 4K 60 on most games then the $700 is worth it for me and i will not buy as much on Series X making Sony even more money from me.
@TheDudeElDuderino anyone who says the PS5 is meh or a dropped ball needs to spend time self reflecting. They also seem to be the types of people who think €800 can get you a quality gaming PC.
It's also a shame that some people are turning literally every article into a whining about price discussion. Give it a rest and stay on topic.
@get2sammyb I think that people who whine about the price of video games and their consoles are just whiners in general who will moan about anything and everything because it ticks some sort of endorphin box in their brain.
It really doesn't make any sense objectively, consoles and games are much cheap compared to those of yesteryear. GTA V launched at $60 which adjusted for inflation is almost $85. At launch, the highest tier Xbox 360 was $400 and the PS3 was $600 which, adjusted, are around $550 and $800 now. The PS5/PS5Pro and the XSX/S are all much more feature-rich, much more powerful, and have much more storage than the 360 and PS3 but cost less.
And of course, $700 is not a lot of money at all. If anyone thinks that, I would suggest a career change. I'd pay 2-3 times what the PS5 pro costs for a console if it could genuinely show off something impressive. And therein lies the ultimate problem with the PS5 Pro, it's not doing anything of note. There should have been at least an in development PS5 exclusive they could have shown off comparing the two versions, showing what could be accomplished with the PS5 Pro vs the PS5. But the console is seemingly just improved framerate and a tick higher resolution, basically the Xbox Series X vs Series S. In a few years will people be whining about the PS5 holding the PS5 Pro back?
@get2sammyb I don't know how you can say concord was a very good looking game when the cast of characters looked like you hit the random generator button in an RPG.
@Macpac33 we can dream brother we can dream
Imagine Forbidden West and Spidey 2 looking better than they already look?! Holy 💩! Also, say Elder Scrolls Online and this is a day 1 for me!
@get2sammyb There’s now an excuse for PS5 games to not be properly optimised on release. Not just an excuse, an incentive. What will sell more Pro consoles, the base version being 4K/60 with no Ray tracing or the base version being downgraded to 30FPS?
@get2sammyb no, I do not think it will be cheap. I think it will be good.
@JohntheRaptor no dude, you are wrong. I know what an 800 credits PC looks like and what a 3000 credits can do. There's a reason I mainly play on consoles and it has nothing to do with prices but with it being a major chore and a pain in the backside.
Rather than insulting people (passive aggressive "everyone", "whining" etc.), try to understand what I'm saying (if you're going to try to engage me).
This device, like the ps4pro, is a stopgap measure, an effort to prolong the manufacturing of an already underperforming platform, with a goal to maximize profit generation from a system that sprung out of a certain R&D budget. It is neither pro consumer nor pro gaming industry.
The price is ridiculous not because you could have a PC that performs the same for the same price (you couldn't) but because it is almost double the price of the base model, and let me tell you friendo, it will not produce even 50% better results.
I saw what sony does with such devices (Bloodborne is calling you dude, with its locked framerate on any ps you run it on), they are never betrayed by their raw power but by how sony dictates software runs on them.
@OldGamer999 yup, they are talking their version of upscaling and frame generation.
Thought I saw motorstorm in that list. 🤤 shame.
Sony slogan:
"Nothing is new, everything is permitted"
@LastSaneManOnEarth preach. I would love to see an average age and income level of commenters. I work and make money so I can buy things like this if I want.
I would posit the majority of PS5 owners don’t spend time on forums like this so the representation here of established, working adults here is probably much, much lower compared to much younger, income-limited gamers on this forum.
@LiamCroft Until Dawn and Last of Us Part 1 are listed as being Pro enhanced on the PS5 Pro website
