Update: The new patch for Shift Up’s console debut Stellar Blade incorporates some new graphical features, some of which give protagonist Eve’s body physics a boost. The Korean developer outlined the full list of improvements in a post on social media earlier today.
Fans have since been testing out the results:
As detailed below, the patch also improves the way clothing reacts to the wind, and much more. To be honest, it’s surprising to see continued graphical improvements like this in a single player game, but we’re impressed by just how much support Shift Up is committing to the title.
Original Article: Korean developer Shift Up has released a surprise update for Stellar Blade, which brings some pretty meaningful improvements and features to the PS5 favourite. It’s important to underline, this does not include the Photo Mode functionality and NieR Automata content announced at State of Play earlier in the week – all of that content is due later in the year.
The big new addition in this 2.4GB update is the implementation of wind physics to more outfits. As you can see in the side-by-side comparisons below, Eve’s clothing will now react naturally to the weather, meaning gusts can lift the heroine’s skirt in certain situations. Previously, only select outfits operated in this way.
The update also brings some welcome quality of life improvements. You can now favourite outfits and accessories making them easier to switch between, and you can also top up your ammo much quicker at base camps.
Elsewhere, the slamming song from the summer vacation update has been added to the music player library, and you can also toggle the event in the Great Desert Oasis on and off, meaning it’s now a permanent addition; previously, it was announced as a time-limited update.
