Cosy games are a whole genre these days, and Infinity Nikki may be about to steal the crown. The upcoming open world platformer – a massively upgraded edition of Infold Games’ long-running fashion franchise – looks a lot like Genshin Impact in this gameplay trailer, as you switch between outfits to unlock different gameplay possibilities.
This trailer focuses a lot on exploration, but there’s plenty to discover along the way. For example, in one instance you’ll need to take a photograph of some birds in a cage, and so you need to solve a fairly simple perspective puzzle to complete the task. Another sequence sees you navigating a ghost train, dodging whimsical ghosts along the way.
Everything looks pretty and vibrant; it’s the epitome of a cosy game. While there does appear to be plenty to do, we’re worried it all looks a little too easy, but we’re sure there’ll be plenty of depth.
As a live service gacha, we’re expecting new outfits and abilities to be added over time, providing an unlimited amount of variety. We can’t wait to see how the release grows and evolves.
There’s a beta test running on PC and mobile right now, with a PS5 version set to follow before the end of the year. We’re hoping to get our hands on that so we can bring you our initial impressions, so keep your eyes peeled for more.

I'm going to try it despite being free-to-play and unrelated to the Goddess of Victory Nikke franchise like I thought at first.
Could not agree more.
I don’t really get excited for new games, or anything like that, aside from Nintendo mostly. But I am really looking forward to this. I’ll have to see if I can “borrow” a PS5 for a bit after it’s released…
Oh, gosh...
Free-2-play game??
No, thanks.
Gacha and cozy don't really go together for me. Last thing I want to do during a cozy game is worry about in-app purchases, Log-in bonus' or FOMO
I'll give it a go. Free-to-play doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. I got 30 hours out of The First Descendant, 45 out of Puzzle Quest 3 and 70 out of Phantasy Star Online 2 and i didn't put money into any of them.
I really wish this was made before the live service money train became dominant ☹️
Was somewhat interested until i heard f2p.
I cant resist!
''WARNING: Cosiness quotient reached. Please log in again in 24 hrs or pay 500 cosy bucks to skip the wait.''
It will start nice and cosy until the grind for currency/resources kicks in, it's the same with any gacha game.
If you're getting it for your kid just make sure you don't get it confused with Nikke!
Cute and all but not sure if it's for me, but, I'll try everything and will give everything a chance and maybe like the gameplay loop.
Global pre-registration is almost 20 million so a lot of people want to jump in!
Never heard the word cosy for a game before
I'm more excited for this than wuthering waves tbh lol. I hope it comes out on ps5 soon tho. Waiting is not my strong suit
The word "cosy" kinda lost it's meaning these days.
Nothing is cosier than live service. Technically being bundled up in layers of cotton and silk while being milked dry is the cosiest situation of all.
Not a fan of free to play games
WTF is a 'cosy' game?
@Futureshark I would assume things like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon? Just more simple that one could just really unwind without huge plots or things like that?
Can't wait to try this game
@LavenderShroud
Ah I see, well I've played both of those before (a fair few years ago to be sure) and never heard of them being described as 'cosy' so I guess it's a new label.
@Futureshark I think it’s one of those new descriptions going around. But I think if anything would fit that category, it would be those two.
I saw the article and just KNEW there would be people not interested in this game coming in to moan. It's so weird. I don't like FIFA or COD or Fortnite but I don't go into articles on those games to complain.
