Developer Ironwood Studios isn't done with Pacific Drive just yet. Its debut game, a roguelike survival experience about traversing a volatile landscape in a banged-up old car, has been a success for the team, and its latest update is a big one, allowing players to fully customise a huge variety of difficulty parameters. You can get a taster in the above trailer.
With the update installed, you'll be able to choose from more difficulty presets, allowing you to either amp up or tone down the level of challenge. For example, Scenic Tour lowers or disables most of the survival mechanics so you can focus on the story, while the other extreme, Iron Wagon, introduces permadeath. While there are various presets to choose from, the best part of the update is the ability to tweak dozens of aspects yourself.
Over 50 settings have been added to the game, allowing you to completely customise the experience to your liking. You can enhance or reduce pretty much every part of Pacific Drive. If you find the crafting recipes too demanding, you can lower their costs; if you want the damage to the car to be harsher, you can do that. It's a cool update that makes things much more flexible.
The cherry on top of this update are some new customisation options, which are inspired by the game's various anomalies. You can deck out your station wagon with various decals and items to make it look like it really belongs in the zone.

I just started playing this game a little while ago, and this seems like a very good addition.
I bought this at launch but found some of the mechanics to be frustrating so I fell off of it. I'll definitely pick it up again after this fantastic update! I love when devs allow people to enjoy games the way they want to.
Loved this, if only there was a VR option. Ill replay it again at some point
Really really want to play this, man I just havetoo many games I want to play.
If Stalker 2 hits it off, I'll be even further behind. Such a horrible life😦
Maybe I’ll go back to it then. I got really frustrated with the bugs in this one when it launched. I’d typically get stuck where I couldn’t pick something up or go to an objective and couldn’t figure out why and would restart a save and it’d work ok. Little things but frustrating. I liked the setting. Might be patched up now too.
Play this fantastic game. GOTY for me.
This was a game I needed 60 FPS in, so I put it down. Pretty sure they have added it since, so I'd like to get back to it.
