Having recently promised to fix the instant-fail stealth sections that litter the early game of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft has deployed PS5 patch 1.1.2 to make the change a reality. The 1.92GB update is available to download now, and also fixes the Old School Cool Trophy, which was preventing the Platinum Trophy from unlocking.
Via Ubisoft Connect, cross-progression and cross-save are now both active across all versions of the game. Addressing the complaints surrounding stealth specifically, Massive Entertainment says you're now less likely to be detected when rolling and the "level of detection [has been] adjusted depending on [your] location".
You can see the full patch notes list below.

They made the stealth easier? It was fairly easy already.
Great to see cross-progression and saving finally working. If only Ubisoft can fix the issues with the Ubisoft+ sub on Xbox not working at all for many people, myself included. I can no longer play the game or access my save to push to the cloud. I would like to try and continue with it on GeForce Now but I don't want to start over tbh
@MikeOrator
We live in a time where the developers literally make the game easier if people cry it's too hard.
The stealth in the game is not generally overly difficult, but what I think (hope?) they are fixing in the insta-fail stealth missions are the times when detection is broken. In the first mission of that type, which I think is the one getting the most complaints, there were a number of times when the prompts came up for me to do a stealth take-down, the animation would start with Kay popping up, but then I would register as caught instead of completing it. That is the kind of stuff I hope this is fixing.
I also don’t think we should be doing insta-stealth fail in 2024. Blasting your way out should always be an option!
I am really enjoying Outlaws. The atmosphere is fantastic. But for a game with so much stealth, I really wish they had done more with it. The ability to move bodies, wear disguises and no insta fails would have been good starts.
@MikeOrator
They knee-jerked to the simple "fix" rather than dealing with the actual problem that makes those stealth sections more punishing than they should be; infrequent checkpoints/autosaves and no option to save manually during set-piece missions. Proper saves are all the game needed, instead of a system that would've felt out of place ten years ago.
@Westernwolf4 What also gets me with the vast majority of the forced-stealth missions is that they inevitably end up in a forced shoot out. It feels cheap on both sides to punish players for slipping up and then forcing the character to slip up for the plot, and in dumping players who had meticulously stealthed the whole thing into a shootout that they'd worked so much to avoid. I enjoy most of the game, but that's archaic design, through and through.
Also somewhat ironic that it's easier to go in guns blazing and kill anyone with a bell icon over their head than it is to be caught out by an overattentive guard in a corner and end up in a firefight with no line of sight on 90% of the enemies. The "nobody can set off the alarm if they're all dead" shouldn't be a better first-option path for a stealth mission than getting caught in the act.
@crossbit I am so glad you raised the check point issue, because that is a big one too. I have lost a couple chunks of progress from guard I didn’t see in the corner after stealthing carefully. There really are not enough checkpoints during those sections.
You used the perfect word in your response to me to describe the system: archaic. The game is really fun, but it could have been even more with a deeper system.
Well it seems alot of the issues that people were whining about at launch have been or are being worked on. Can everyone stop crying now? At least they are making an effort to make it more enjoyable.
Excellent, I can now pursue the platinum in peace
@Westernwolf4 agreed, not being able to move a dead body in 2024 is ridiculous.
As always Ubi games (and most other games too) are cheaper and better a year after release^^
@MikeOrator exactly! I was shocked at the gripes.
They need to fix colour of the compass. It's hard to see when on speeder unless you have that ugly black background behind it but that's so ugly it looks like a placeholder
Any fix for the infuriating inverted camera when in photo mode?
