Sniper Elite team Rebellion has shared the first in-depth glimpse at the gameplay, setting, and world of its next PS5, PS4 title: Atomfall. Scheduled to release for both of Sony's consoles in March 2025, it presents a post-apocalyptic version of northern England in the year 1962, following the real-life events of the Windscale disaster. A nuclear fire burned for three days in Cumbria, and Atomfall depicts an alternate take on the events five years later. Check out the video above.
The narrator describes the experience as a "single player first-person action survival game" that takes place in a fictional quarantine zone after the nuclear fire. There's more to the incident in Rebellion's alternate take, though, and it'll be up to you to discover the secrets and actual events behind the disaster. A military group is already there to restore order while help arrives, but the latter never materialised. With conspiracy theories spreading about what's really going on, you need to work out what's really going on.
Gameplay reveals human, robotic, and supernatural enemies, as well as cult figures that have arisen in the years since the fire. The HUD depicts how you'll follow Leads in order to discover clues and revelations about the incident, while gunplay appears to come at a premium, with only a few bullets available. All your weapons and equipment must be procured on-site, and a crafting system lets you fashion new items and ammo.
Atomfall releases for PS5, PS5 in March 2025. Do you like the look of the latest Rebellion game? Let us know in the comments below.

It's the first time a nuclear fire made a country more beautiful than it actually is! Other than that, It looks like a Fallout game made by Bethesda. That is NOT something other developers need to copy. They have been crushing my hopes and dreams of a good Fallout game perfectly fine on their own since 2008.
I have a sudden craving to play Atomic Heart and Fallout
Man I need this. Looks like my sort of game.
This looks incredible, more than hyped after Bethesda have shown they’re never reaching the level of FO3/Skyrim ever again.
Will see closer to release if I will pick this up, as 2025 is ABSOLUTELY stacked!
@Overmind it’s pretty nice where I live I do t know about you lol
Looks good, keeping an eye on this one, looks right up my street!
@Mikey856
It's pretty nice here too!
@DonJorginho
Believe in Todd!
I'm seriously stoked for this.
Looks fine, I'm not sure the actual storyline will be all that interesting, probably just wait for it to be on sale. When you start out your trailer trying to get me excited about a couple of burnt out vehicles and a shoddy playground.... yeah, okay. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be humour but it didn't land.
This game gives me a lot of Bethesda vibes, like Fallout vibes but also a bit of BioShock or Outer Worlds on the side and maybe some Atomic Heart too. It might not be as impressive as Stalker 2, but it looks good!
Wow! Lookin' super spooky! Can't wait to g-g-give it a shot!
Cricket bats you say? hmm
Would recommend a visit to the Lake District to anyone. Stunning place! Reminds me of many a holiday with my grandparents ❤️
...that is, without the fallout.
Looks like a Fallout game should be! Wonder if it'll feature a VATS style system?
On another note, interesting that the PS4 is still getting releases well into 2025. That beast is never going to be retired...
I always admired Sniper Elite from a distance but it wasn't really for me, though it was obvious that Rebellion is a talented developer. This looks much more interesting to me, so I'm probably going to give it a go.
Looks splendid, we need more high class AA titles!
@Loamy Centre parks by any chance?
@Overmind you ever actually been to the UK?
@Oram77 Nahh it was always around Watendlath and other areas for some beautiful walks. Haystacks and Blencathra had some amazing views
@BusyOlf

Day One on Game Pass looking foward to it
