The unholy triumvirate of Massive Monster, Devolver Digital and Laced Records have joined forces, looping in some demons of the heavy metal scene for a six-track Cult of the Lamb tribute album. It's called Cult of the Lamb: Hymns of the Unholy and features the smooth, musical stylings of members, past and present, of the likes of Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Polyphia, Animals as Leaders, Malevolence, While She Sleeps, and Monuments. Vinyl preorders are available now, and they are expected to ship in March, along with some very metal T-shirts.
It's a pretty cool concept, and Massive Monsters co-founder Jay Armstrong says there is a natural link between the games' themes and metal: "We’re huge fans of metal music and know there’s a lot of metalheads in the Cult of the Lamb community too...why not get some G.O.A.T.s from the world of metal to transform River Boy’s iconic melodies into heavy metal slammers?"

I only know Killswitch Engage and that was only because of CM Punk
I was expecting lamb of god
Animals as Leaders is a nice surprise, and thematically appropriate!
Calling these bands goats is a stretch.
I love heavy metal. And I don’t even know who these people are?
Missed opportunity to have Cult Leader on here. Love those guys.
@AdamNovice wrestling is so embarrassing.
Polyphia? Heavy metal slammers? I like polyphia quite a lot but they are really the odd pick out of those named. They are more prog rock and hardly the soundtrack to the apocalypse. I'd prefer some entombed,sepultura,slayer and a bit of mayhem.
@CurryPowderKeg79 pretty sure goat is a play on words here
@CurryPowderKeg79 Polyphia did a song called GOAT.
Heavy Metal for me starts and stops with Iron Maiden.
To be fair, Cult of the Lamb is the most heavy metal album name ever.
Local boys, Killswitch, getting the love! That’s awesome news.
@LavenderShroud You sure you do? They're mostly surface-level bands (though Animals As Leaders are the only genuinely good ones there).
@Jrs1 You're missing out in such a massive way. Even if you want to keep it strictly in the realams of 80s (I'm going for peak Maiden here) power metal, there's bands like Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, Realm, Manilla Road, etc. that are every bit as good as classic Maiden. And then you modern bands like Portrait, Enforcer and Eternal Champion that keep that sound alive.
Heck, I find it hard to believe that someone into classic Maiden wouldn't also be into classic Judas Priest.
@MrPeanutbutterz Still a bit gutted after hearing of Paul di Anno's passing, Killers is a superb album.
@MrPeanutbutterz let's have a bit of mercyful fate and some celtic frost too...I'm with you on Judas priest too.
Howard is a top 5 metal vocalist all time don't @ me
@Jrs1 Yeah he was a bit of an arsehole in his later years (RIP, nevertheless), but the first two are classics for sure.
@Northern_munkey Yep, and Trouble, Candlemass, Sanctuary, Sabbat, Saint Vitus, Cirith Ungol, Queensryche, Pentagram, Watchtower...
@AfroMario green day are a punk band 🤦♂️
@MrPeanutbutterz queensryche? Was this to see if I was paying attention? Great band but come on they are hardly demonic sounding 🤣
@Northern_munkey None of those 80s bands I mentioned are either in fairness 😂
Just good, powerful vocals (okay so Sabbat are a bit gruffer, but it's still great to hear Walkyier rattle through those lyrics.
@MrPeanutbutterz fair enough. I guess Geoff tate can put up a good battle against king diamond then for the "wail of the banshee" battle 🤣
@Northern_munkey "Revolution calling!!!" 😆
Geoff Tate played a gig down the road from me a few weeks back (in Ireland, effectively in a pub). I couldn't make it, but a buddy went said it was great.
That said, I think Midnight from Crimson Glory pips both of those boys in the vocal department!
