Cult of the Lamb's Unholy Alliance Update Adds Local Co-Op, New Follower Traits, Much More 1

Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster recently unveiled the next major update to their hit indie title, Cult of the Lamb. Named Unholy Alliance, its headline feature is local co-op, allowing you to play the whole game with a buddy. That would be plenty for a free update, but the team isn't stopping there.

New details on the PS Blog reveal much more coming to the game with Unholy Alliance. As well as weaving local co-op into the game, the update introduces a boatload of new traits for your followers, making them more diverse and dynamic. Some examples provided include suffering from insomnia, demonic snoring that can wake others up, breaking friends out of prison, and being affected positively or negatively when they return from missions.

The update also adds two new structures for you to build in your cult. The first is a nursery, which can look after up to three babies at once — though you'll still need to clean up after them. Once they reach the age of 14, they'll leave the nursery to free up a space. The other structure is a Knucklebones arena. Pop this down in your hub, and you'll be able to play one game of Knucklebones a day against your followers. The difficulty of the match is related to their level and, if you win, your opponent will instantly level up.

On top of all that, your crusades will also be more varied with Unholy Alliance. There are a bunch of new relics and tarot cards to discover, many of which are designed around the new co-op feature, amping up your runs when playing as a twosome.

It sounds like a really robust update from where we're sitting. You can read a few more details over on the PS Blog. Unholy Alliance will be available 12th August as a free update. Will you be checking it out? Let us know in the comments section below.
