The demo will include the full character creator toolset, allowing you to build your avatar. You’ll be able to import your character into the full game on 28th February, so you may want to spend a little bit of time here to refine your looks.
You’ll also be able to watch the opening cutscene and play through the tutorials, before engaging in a four-player multiplayer hunt. Anyone who participates will unlock an exclusive pendant in the full game, which you can wear to prove you were there during the beta.
To celebrate the open beta test, Capcom has released a brand new trailer introducing a locale known as the Oilwell Basin. As the name so eloquently implies, the area is populated by various oil wells – and a host of beastly monsters you’ll need to hunt, including the Black Fang, Ajarakan, and mysterious Rompopolo.
The game will also be taking full advantage of the PS5’s unique features, including the DualSense controller, 3D audio, and more. It’ll have gyro controls for ranged weapon control, while the controller’s speaker will also be utilised to emit the sounds of the Seikret and “other endemic life”. According to Capcom’s Joseph Bustos, you can expect an “immersive experience that only the PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds can provide”.
Will you be testing this out at all? Prepare for the hunt in the comments section below.
