Eager Monster Hunter fans excited to jump into Capcom's latest effort, the expansive Monster Hunter Wilds, were made temporarily uncomfortable by the game's talking Palicoes, a series first, upon booting up the PS5 beta. Thankfully, they can be made to speak their traditional Felyne, and outside of that oddity, first impressions of the game seem strong.
As PC Gamer has noted, hearing Palicoes speak in a language other than their own is a little offputting for series stalwarts, and we were unaware their feline vocal cords could even form human speech. By default, these cat-like creatures speak in this particular game. Still, if you find the idea slightly unsettling, you can toggle off the Felyne Language option in the Palico creation screen, not the audio settings, as you might expect.
