Originally confirmed during last year's PlayStation Showcase, studio Dreamlit has revealed its open world building game Towers of Aghasba will enter an Early Access phase on PS5 next month. From 19th November 2024, you will be able to sample a slice of the overall experience, including three ecosystems to grow and nurture and three different town types to build. Pre-orders are available now on the PS Store for £35.99 / $29.99, and you can catch the latest gameplay trailer above.

The game follows the Shimu people, who have to leave their home after it was ravaged by a "mysterious force" known as the Withered. A press release continues: "As junior architect, it’s your job to rebuild the villages of your once-mighty civilization and nurture Aghasba’s ecosystems back to life. Core gameplay lets you traverse the wide world of Aghasba — scaling colossal mountains, gliding across jaw-dropping vistas, and befriending majestic creatures."

You'll craft weapons, armour, and potions to help you fight the monsters poisoning the land, then during downtime it's all about restoring ecosystems of the past with flora and fauna. "Back at homebase, flex your creativity by designing a bustling civilization and customizing your island home with decorations." Once your happy with your creations, you can invite up to three real-life players to your island, where you can battle enemies together or trade items with one another.

For pre-ordering on PS5, you'll gain access to bonuses like an exclusive Harelope mount design, five extra decorations, and three more masks. The content available at the launch of Early Access on 19th November 2024 is as follows:

  • Three types of unique ecosystems to restore and grow
  • Three types of towns to construct
  • 40+ creatures to unlock
  • 120+ plants to grow and harvest
  • 150+ decoration recipes
  • Exploration across vast open-world lands
  • Ruins and relics to discover, unlocking ancient knowledge
  • Variety Activities (eg. fishing)
