Sony will run a PS5 price promotion in China to coincide with the country’s Singles’ Day, an annual shopping event somewhat similar to Black Friday. During the promotional period, fans will be able to nab a PS5 Digital Edition for as little as ~$390 on current exchange rates. There’ll also be a zero interest monthly payment option for those looking to purchase the platform in instalments, too.

Perhaps most interesting of all, though, is how the platform holder is promoting this deal alongside upcoming gacha game Infinity Nikki. While the open world dress-‘em-up currently doesn’t have an official release date, the developer has been taking registrations for an forthcoming closed beta test on Sony’s console. Across all platforms, almost 30 million players have pre-registered for the release.

In other words, this game is going to be massive, and clearly the PlayStation maker has already identified that. To be fair, it is running other promotional banners for Black Myth: Wukong and NBA 2K25, but the fact Sony is advertising Infinity Nikki like this suggests it sees huge potential in the title, particularly in Asia.

Games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail have become among the most played on the PS5 in Asia, and their popularity is unprecedented. Wuthering Waves, another highly popular gacha game, is also expected on the PS5 in the near future, and it’s a game Sony promoted heavily at its ChinaJoy booth earlier in the year. Expect it to market that title extremely heavily, too.
