Sony might not be shipping the PS5 Pro with an 8K logo on its outer packaging, but that doesn't stop a handful of titles from supporting the 7680 x 4320 resolution. Gran Turismo 7 was previously announced as one game with an 8K mode on PS5 Pro, and now Hello Games has added No Man's Sky to the list. At launch, from today, the space explorer can be played in 8K at 30 frames-per-second.
There'll also be a 4K mode running at 60fps through the use of Sony's PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) AI technology, and no matter which mode you pick, PS5 Pro will deliver better "graphical quality across the board". Hello Games notes that PS5 Pro users can expect "improved lighting, with ultra quality reflections and higher quality ambient occlusion". Interestingly, these improvements will also all carry over to the PSVR2 version of No Man's Sky.
Here's a selection of No Man's Sky screenshots in 8K:
Alongside the PS5 Pro features, the game's latest patch also brings a universal cross-save feature. You will be able to upload your save to a server, and then download it to continue your progress on another platform. "Adding Cross-Save for us is a little bit like moving house, the longer people have lived there the more complicated it is to move them! We also have players who played once at launch, eight years ago, suddenly loading up that save on a platform that didn’t even exist back then!"
The feature will start off with a small number of players, and then it expands to everyone in the coming weeks. You can sign up for cross-save through the link.

Off topic but I managed to snag a disc drive from Very if anyone in the UK is still looking.
Cross save will finally make my Switch version of the game have some worth.
No Man's Sky is just insane.
I want better realistic graphics in games, not 8K.
@Loamy Also upgraded!
I'm sure all of the three people with 8K TVs will be happy.
i can't wait its still a few hours from being delivered
The come back of No Man's Sky needs to be studied for future generations
Personally I would like to someday meet someone with a 8K TV so I can shake their hands and stare in awe.
8K - the resolution no-one wanted or cares about.
I just watched a comparisons to launch No Man's Sky. Astounding how far it's come. Bravo Hello Games. đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź
This is definitely a game I am starting over on PS5. No Man’s Sky is a masterpiece.
Bought a new tv(LG OLED) when the ps5 released. 8k sounds good, but how many people have an 8k screen?
I'm assuming it's super-sampled 8K and not native, which would still be an image improvement. Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Series X is in 6K, for example.
Cross save is the big news here since I also enjoy playing it in VR.
@Loamy one of the best VR experiences out there. Taking off, hovering just above a planets atmosphere and peeping down out of the window is the stuff I dreamt of as a kid.
@sanderson72 who stole the jam out of your doughnut?
Man, the PS5 Pro is looking PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY good right now!
@Weebleman it really is! I usually play VR sitting down in a nice computer desk chair (I usually just game on the couch) and sitting in my ship in NMS feels almost real.
@get2sammyb Yes NMS is absolutely insane... why would the company keep updating their game, to the point that people don't actually get anywhere because they keep wanting to restart... Am I the only one that never gets anywhere in the game because of the constant updates. Maybe they DO need to sell an update version as a separate game... this (IMO) is starting to turn from "I can't believe they still do this"... to "WTF... another update... dude, I get it... you're sorry... let's move on with our lives"
