If you've been on the fence about buying Black Ops 6, you may be interested in knowing that the game's going free to play all next week.
The popular shooter launched for PS5 and PS4 back in October, and was met with very positive reviews from critics. The fan reception has been a bit up and down since then — as it always is when it comes to Call of Duty — but Activision went on record saying that it's the "biggest Call of Duty ever".
That's in terms of "engagement", of course — which is always a deliberately murky metric.
Anyway! If you're interested in this free trial, it sounds rather robust (which means the download size is probably gigantic). But to be clear, the game's single-player campaign is not included — it's just the multiplayer side of things.
"From December 13 to 20, get one week of free access to Multiplayer and Zombies including new maps like Hideout and Hacienda, and modes including Prop Hunt introduced in Season 01!", reads the official announcement.
Will you be trying Black Ops 6 next week? Just remember that swapping weapons is faster than reloading in the comments section below.

Has the Pro update finally landed yet, anyone know?
Where is the ‘Nope, I have less than no interest’ poll option?
only if marvel rivals sucks
How many harddrives does it need. Yeah might check it out skipped so many i can't remember the last one I played.
Time to farm some noobs
Really heard great things about it but I do not have the hard drive space to even contemplate downloading a trial! Plus I’ll try that Marvel game tomorrow instead.
@nessisonett the free trial doesn’t start until next week so gives you time to try both.
Will definitely try it out solely for the zombies mode. If they would just sell that mode on its own I would not hesitate to buy it. They already let you choose what game modes you have installed on your machine when you buy the new cod anyways
@PloverNutter I genuinely would have to delete most games to download it. I have an external that I keep PS4 games on but I just use the internal hard drive the console came with, it’s enough to have what I need installed.
Just got GamePass on sale for Indiana Jones and was thinking of giving CoD some time. Probably just try it on PlayStation now.
Too bad the campaign isn’t included. I liked the old campaigns. Like CoD 1 and 2. I remember them being grittier and liked them because they did not glorify war or make it “cool.” It felt more like the video game versions of Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers, where “war is hell” was the driving message. Maybe that’s all in my head but that was my takeaway at the time at least. Multiplayer CoD is a different bag altogether and not my cup of tea. This is great news if that’s what you’re into I guess, but I’ll pass on this offer…
Only interested in the campaign, so this is a no for me
I remember the days when CoD and FIFA were never on sale let alone free to play weekends
No campaign, no try.
Shame about the campaign not included, but makes sense as everyone would just complete it and not buy the game lol. I might actually give it a try for free, and i just got a 1TB SSD expansion drive on sale, so not need to worry about storage. Although annoyingly i have to collect the SSD from the post office as amazon claims I wasn't in when they come, even though I was in all day and my flat intercom didn't ring all day 🙄
There are lots of games I wouldn't mind playing if the storage wasn't so limited on PS5. I want to play more than Cod on my console.
Not letting people play the campaign is a huge L
@Balaam_ we can start our own poll mate 🤣
How is it free when you need PlayStation Plus
