Fortnite is just incredible. While dev Epic has been a little quieter rolling out the release’s new modes than Fortnite Festival and Rocket Racing, it continues to morph into a full-blown platform with 5v5 tactical FPS Ballistic, out today.

As you can see from this launch trailer, this looks more like Rainbow Six than it does the Battle Royale, and it just goes to show how Fortnite is beginning to morph into everything for everyone all at the same time. This week, the company also announced a GTA-esque social city hub named Brick Life.

What’s remarkable about all these individual games and modes is that they’re all on their own live service development paths, so they get new content updates and features all the time. Admittedly, the studio has pulled the plug on the aforementioned Rocket Racing, but Fortnite Festival remains alive and well.

Epic will obviously end up devoting resources to the most popular modes, but it’s just incredible to see a single game transform into an entire platform like this. The jury’s still out on Ballistic, of course, but we’d be shocked if it failed to find an audience.
