It’s been a long time coming, but the indie Devil May Cry signed to Sony’s China Hero Project for several years finally appears poised and ready for release. A new gameplay trailer coincides with a 2025 launch window, with the game now available to wishlist on both PS5 and PC.
PlayStation appears to be publishing the game on both its own platform and Steam, which makes sense considering it’s spent several years supporting the project.
This trailer, while short, is really good by the way – the combat looks as fast and fluid as it always has, but visually it looks spectacular, with some larger-than-life boss encounters and enormous, dramatic vistas. The only thing we’re not overly keen on are the cookie cutter character designs.
Those of you with extremely long memories may recall this title going viral several years ago, when it was the hobby project of a single person. It’s since spawned a full-scale team named Ultizero Games, and all being well, we should finally get our hands on this long-awaited character action game next year.

Honestly it gets to a point where you start to question but much you actually want a game. This was the coolest looking thing in 2017(?) when it was the talk of the town, but now I'm starting to feel like how Silksong fans are starting to feel.
It's LOOKED great for a while. Hopefully it PLAYS great and can stick the landing.
Finally, not expecting the story to be any good but gameplay I'm hoping is mega complex
Finally I was honestly starting to lose hope this would ever come out well this is now my 2nd most anticipated game of next year ^__^
It's a mash up of dmc and final fantasy
I hope it delivers after all this time.
Looks great hope it plays the same
I hope the combat has some impact/response to it. It is surprising how many action games drop the ball on this including FFXVI.
Tbh it’s been so long since those first initial trailers that I lost interest in this game a couple years ago lol…. For those who are still hyped for it, enjoy when it does finally release.
Honestly, I'm just glad that even after all the delays, they're still determined on giving us a hack and slasher instead of dumbing the gameplay into yet another souls-like lol
Great news, been eyeing this one for a few years now. Every trailer so far looked great.
Off-topic: Why are the articles on this website written in such an unnecessary complex way? That first sentence is almost unreadable, just as a lot of titles with all those capitals. As a non-native speaker I often find it difficult to read the articles, even though I completed my CAE course.
I forgot this existed and thought it was cancelled
It looks good and for the 2nd consecutive year Sony will have action-hack slash game for PS5 owners after this year Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.
But i wonder if Phantom Blade Zero will release next year too.
Lost soul aside kind of looks like a sequel to final fantasy 16😊.haha.word up son
