Publisher 11 Bit Studios and developer Digital Sun have announced Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, a sequel to the acclaimed shopkeeping sim/roguelike dungeon crawler.
Building on the fun mix of genres in the original, Moonlighter 2 sees the return of protagonist Will as he and his fellow villagers are caught up in a mysterious dimension. You'll need to restore the village and your shop to their former glory as you raid various dungeons and fight to return things to normal.
Players will delve into the roguelike portion of the game to find products and materials to sell in their shop, with later, more dangerous dungeons offering up more valuable rewards. During the day, you'll sell your wares, aiming to rake in all the funds you can so you can upgrade your shop and help out your companions.
While the core of the game sounds pretty familiar, it's being presented with a brand new look, dropping the pixel art for a full 3D rendered world.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is coming to PS5 sometime in 2025. Are you excited to see this series continue? Open for business in the comments section below.

Played this game last year, was just kinda looking for a fun indie on PS+ that seemed different. I had a blast with it. Enjoyed the shopkeeping stuff, setting your prices, and trying to push all that product, then going back out to the dungeon to do it all again.
Would totally play a sequel and it looks like they're bringing a new visual style.
Interesting. I didn’t play the original as a lot of the challenges were broken, but this prompted me to research whether the devs fixed the game and it seems they have! Which is great as I was originally really looking forward to it.
In fact, strangely, it says I’ve purchased it??? I do actually remember it was on plus I think, but there’s usually a little symbol indicating “included” if that’s where you got it. I’ll check tomorrow.
Hopefully this lives up to my hopes and the sequel doesn’t take so long after release to get finished.
Pretty bummed they went 3D for the sequel.
not sure how I feel. I REALLY enjoy pixel based games (Children of Morta kinda stuff) and this feels... different. The original was a lot of fun, I really dug the idea. Yeah, I see the same elements but it has a different taste and all. Don't know how to put my finger on it.
I enjoyed the first one. But at no point thought it needed a sequel. Will be interesting to see what they bring to the table
