Sample Space Marine 2's Super Satisfying Combat with New PS Plus Premium Trial

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been granted a two-hour PS Plus Premium trial on PS5, so that more people can sample its superbly chaotic combat.

You'll actually be able to run through a decent chunk of the game's campaign in two hours, so we'd recommend checking it out if you've even the least bit interested. You'll definitely get a feel for the action in that time, which is a hectic mix of third-person blasting and slashing.

Having said that, it's worth remembering Space Marine 2 will be getting a dedicated PS5 Pro update in the near future. If you're playing on Sony's enhanced system, you may want to wait for the patch to drop before diving in.

Uhhh dope. I already have the game, but this would be a great way to recruit friends if I had any.

I played this yesterday for the full two hours and got through the prologue and operaton one. Its good fun!

Do Trials add trophies to your account? I’m unclear. Supposedly it’s a timed portion of the actual game, not a separate and distinct sku like a traditional demo. I’ve avoided trials like the plague because I’m unsure if they’ll force trophies into my list. Trophies which inexplicably cannot be removed by me, the user.

@Balaam_ I've tried a few trials and yes, they do.

I should be loving this game but I think I put so many hours into World War Z that it all seemed too familiar when I went through the campaign. As someone who’s barely put notice into the Warhammer universe I will say that the UltraMarine are super bad ass. They’re pure relentless in going from one mission to the next.

@MrPeanutbutterz I’ll never understand it, to each their own, but I remember reading comments about how some people were going to skip SotE because it didn’t have trophies which is, well, foolish.

Call me crazy, or old-school but I like to play games for the gameplay part of gaming and not receiving for non-tangible awards for having a hobby.

It’s a slog of a game. Some fun to be had, sure. But it becomes to samey and repetitive, I guess already during 2 hours of play. So many assembly points, gates, elevators and empty areas. This is IMO.

@JustCameHereToSay Yeah had a friend genuinely ask me how I could play SotE without them. I asked him how could he go to the cinema, a gig, or a comedy show without them. "That's different". Nah bro, they're all forms of entertainment.

I'm 100% with you about gameplay. Like I struggle to play anything that doesn't have robust gameplay systems. Call it hangover from growing up in arcades, I guess. And I'm genuinely hoping that Nintendo don't give into trophies/achievements with the Switch 2.

@MrPeanutbutterz I grew up in arcades as well and they’re a bit of nostalgia when I come across one, especially if it has MK2 or KI in it.

And while I haven’t had a newer Nintendo for a while (I have a SNES and a 64), I also hope they don’t give in to the trophy/achievement system. It’d seem like pandering at this point.

This game looks good but I need to know what other type of enemies is in this game besides swarms of alien creatures?

@Balaam_ Wait a sec, you don’t want trophies for meeting a game’s goals during a couple hours of gameplay? I think that’s the first time I’ve heard someone say that. Huh. Just curious, what’s the reasoning? Concerned it looks like you’re fishing for trophies or ? Hmm. And here I was…all excited that I got the platinum trophy for Bucket Crusher today. 🤣
