Of all the shocks and surprises at The Game Awards, Shadow Labyrinth may just be the most unusual of them all. It’s a side-scrolling action platformer in a similar style to something like, say, Dead Cells – except it’s inexplicably also a Pac-Man game.

Here’s the press release overview: “As Swordsman No. 8, awoken by a floating yellow orb, PUCK, on a mysterious planet where relics from past wars remain, you are chosen to become the instrument of its will. To survive you will discover many secrets, start preying on your enemies, and become the apex predator as embrace your true purpose.”

The blurb doesn’t really reveal much more, although it does mention you’ll be searching the “remnants of an age-old intergalactic conflict”, where you’ll discover new powers and abilities. You’ll apparently be able to customise and tailor your playstyle to your own personal tastes.

The game’s due out in 2025.
