Tiny Tina's Wonderlands PS5 PS4 PlayStation

Developer Gearbox's Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was a wildly successful release, so a sequel made sense. According to a new report, however, that unannounced project has either been indefinitely delayed or cancelled, with internal resources allocated to completing Borderlands 4 instead.

MP1st cites sources within Gearbox and claims the unannounced Tina sequel was cancelled in recent months. The outlet makes its case fairly convincingly, delving into LinkedIn and ArtStation posts, reporting that the game initially underwent a soft reboot following Gearbox's acquisition by Take-Two. In this way, Gearbox was freed from the clutches of the Embracer Group earlier in 2024 and purchased for a song.

Of course, the industry is the way it is. Lost Boys Interactive (owned by Gearbox), the studio responsible for Tina Tina, has suffered two major rounds of layoffs this year alone. With the focus shifting to Borderlands 4, which Gearbox claims will be its most ambitious undertaking yet, we could see putting another Wonderlands game on the back burner for a while.
