A reputed former Rockstar employee with no fear for the consequences has seemingly leaked an image of Grand Theft Auto 6. More brazen still, the image appears to have been taken inside the developer's San Diego office; it's also allegedly three-and-a-half years old, a low-res image of the apparent protagonist, Lucia, standing by a wall.
Eurogamer has been following this rather bizarre story, which just goes to show how fearful we should all be when it comes to Rockstar's litigious parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Take-Two last year (amicable resolution or not) filed a trademark dispute over concerns about Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment's "R" logo change. Taking the outlet's lead, we won't directly host the image, but it is on Reddit.
The poster, JustLovett0, said: "Someone I am close to took it when they worked at the Rockstar office for a few months... a photo from mid-2021. I think it's been long enough that I can post this." The tell-tale presence of official console dev kits (as well as the general layout of the office, according to Eurogamer) marked "SAND" suggests that this image originated from Rockstar San Diego. The studio most recently released Red Dead Redemption 2 but worked in support of Grand Theft Auto V during development, and it makes sense it would help out with the anticipated sequel.
Is anyone, anywhere, after any length of time, truly safe from Rockstar's legal team? How do you feel about GTA 6, having observed a several-year-old image of the game? Let us know in the comments section below.

Ah yes...so very worthy of destroying your career over leaking online.
In all honesty I am not interested in getting GTA6, although all my gaming buddies are picking it up when it launches. I just never really got into the games at all, excluding the 4th one which I did like. Everything before and after that didn’t really interest me. Very happy for everyone that is excited for the launch as this game is going to be a great jumpstart for the industry I’m sure!
I am not aroused. Leftist propaganda.
(That's sarcasm, before anyone has a conniption)
What Rockstar was able to do with RDR2 on that hardware. Then take it to PC where you can throw $4-5K on it and it looks photorealistic. No doubt in my mind GTA6 with the time and budget they have behind it that it will be one of the best tech demonstrations of what video games are capable of capturing. If the gameplay loop ain’t your thing, i get it. But to knock this game from a build standpoint will be foolish. It will have dev’s on other teams going we need to reach this level at some point. Rockstar is miles ahead. Again RDR2 in my opinion is still a masterclass.
Imagine if it gets delayed on Xbox because of the Xbox series S 🙄
It’ll be outrageously good, both in content and style. I can’t wait.
terrible graphics
Let’s see it gameplay wise running on consoles and how the 30fps looks in motion and panning around etc.
I really can’t stand 30fps nowadays and yes I’m a 60fps snob and all games should have 60fps as standard when running 3d worlds in first or third person.
Give me 60fps any day over ray tracing etc.
@OldGamer999 I mean why won't it be in 60fps.
They have said nothing about gta 6 and frame rate.
All we have had is digital foundry put their 2 cents in and a load of YouTubers saying 30fps.
We have had no official word that gta 6 will be 30 or 60.
And like digital foundry have said if anyone can pull it off its rockstar.
Is there any doubt that this game is going to be goty whenever it releases? Also will be the biggest game to get players from last Gen to move to current gen. If Sony was smart they already inked a deal for marketing, bundles and ready to have price cuts to lineup with the release date.
@Can-You-Believe-Sith it probably would kill the brand for good.
@Bez87
I most definitely hope you are correct and it is 60fps.
We shall see hopefully this year 2025.
Why ruin your entire career (will probably be blacklisted by all studios) by showing off a useless low-res photo that doesn't even reveal anything unless you didn't know Lucia had a big butt 🤦🏼♀️
Literally sitting not standing. Push Square has lost all credibility
@Safaturn lmao right.. I’m like ‘well where is the picture?? No one is standing by a wall in this photo 🤔’
@HonestHick I didn't experience RDR2 last generation but only did for the current generation. And wow! It could easily be a current generation launch title. Rockstar does very well with whatever console hardware is out no matter the generation.
@Safaturn In the Reddit leaked photo that they linked she's standing near a wall.
Ew. A girl protag. Icky…
Not getting my hopes up the old rockstar is dead all these clowns care about is how much money they can squeeze out of the fan base with half-ass ports and terrible remasters paid £7 for a mobile version of Liberty City Stories and need to contact customer service every time just so they can activate the game I've purchased
@OldGamer999 I honestly think it is a safe bet.
Just look at every ps5 game.
We have
quality mode
Performance mode
At the very bare minimum.
So why wouldn't gta 6 have at least those 2 options.
Let alone we now have games on the probl using pssr and reaching 4k 60fps.
Rockstars are the masters of optimisation.
We do have gta 5 60fps on ps5.
We have to remember that gta 5 literally came out on the ps3. Like we haven't seen rockstar at full swing on a gta since then.
We have a good idea due to rdr2 but even they abandoned that pretty quickly after release.
Plus games basically were all 30fps on ps3 and ps4, it wasn't until the ps4 pro came out 60fps became a main stay on home consoles.
So for me it's certain that we will get a quality mode and a performance mode at the very least. Let alone other options like many games have done.

Rockstar has nothing on Eurogamer when it comes to censorship and control of a narrative 😄😄
@Rodimusprime1313
GTA 6. Awful question 😄😄😄👍
Not buying this slop
This game is going to push today's hardware and I guarantee it will even causes some issues with the new GPUs coming out from AMD and Nvidia in the mid range. AMD aren't even releasing a high end line this time round so this maybe a bad decision on their part, Nvidia have it covered with Blackwell but the prices if rumors are true are going to be crazy allegedly £1600 for a 5080 and £2200 for 5090
@Dampsponge They are under Take Two who's CEO Struass Zelnick is obsessed with making money for his pay masters, he's the one who believes all games they make should have casino and shark card type systems after the whales bought £6 billion in shark cards since PS3 release till now
Just tell me when ACG's review is out.
Looks as though she is sitting down to me. Eurogamer the 2nd most reputable gaming site next to IGN.
The picture looks like the army camp in the beginning part of vice city stories.
Not buying this day one. Gonna wait till the "testers" are done with it and Rockstar then patch it, like most other AAA releases these days.
@Frmknst People seem to love the gacha copy/paste. I'm struggling to see the difference between the games at this point.
