SEGA and RGG Studio have announced that they'll be hosting a new Like a Dragon Direct this week, on the 9th January, at 5pm GMT / 6pm CET / 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern.
The broadcast will provide more information on Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which is still set to launch on the 21st February. Forgive us for pointing this out again, but next month's release schedule really does look insane.
In particular, this stream's going to "reveal various updates and first-looks at new features for the upcoming modern-day pirate adventure". We're expecting a fresh look at some typically bonkers side activities, which will probably end up being far more in-depth than you ever could have imagined.
Will you be tuning into this Like a Dragon Direct? Are you looking forward to Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii? Become the mad dog himself in the comments section below.

Love this series, and I'm currently playing through Infinite Wealth, but sadly I may have to buy Pirate Yakuza after launch 😣 Thanks to MH Wilds, I'm already paying enough to upgrade my PC to play that on day one.
I'll definitely be checking it out at some point because it looks loads of fun, but being sandwiched inbetween assassin's creed and monster hunter means it'll have to wait a little while for me.
Don't know if I will play this one ..infinite wealth was the first one I gave a proper go..and I ended up loving it and getting the platinum....but I much prefer the turn based...I tried the other games with the real time combat and just didn't enjoy it as much ..will have to see closer to release what's on my plate game wise lol
I’ve played all the games thru MOST of Y:LAD and I need to catch up before this comes out!
I avoid the marketing for the Like a Dragon games because they spoil way too much, so I won't be tuning into this. I want to go into Pirate Yakuza as blind as possible.
I won't be watching since I know I'll get it anyway, probably not straight away since I'll be playing KCD2 when it releases. I'll be interested if they tease what is next after Pirates. It's the 20th Anniversary so I'm expecting another release later this year.
@SirCecilNiplewhip
I think you meant Pirate Yakuza is a rose between two thorns...lol...
@AinsleyE
Please may this prediction of yours be true....(Judgement 3 or Kawami 3 please Universe)
Like a Dragon direct before a Switch 2 direct! Love to see it hehe
Infinite Wealth was the first game that I played at launch in a long long time. It was great. But sadly, Kingdome Come Deliverance II is going to be the 2nd game that I play at launch in a long long time. Majima will have to wait.
@MikeOrator I'd be happier with either of those. We did get the first Kiwami during the 10th Anniversary so maybe a 3, even though it is Judgment I want the most.
Do we know if you have to pay for ng+ like the recent games? If it even has it.
Is there any news on the new century game release date yet?
Do I really want to watch this even though I’ve already preordered the game? Yes. Should I watch this? Probably not. Will I watch this? Probably yes because I’m a sucker for anything Majima
@RBMango yeah that’s a great point tbh. They destroyed that major Kiryu in IW “update” reveal that 100% didn’t need to be in trailers.
Pirates looks fun, but purely leaning into the silly side of Yakuza might backfire eventually. People stopped caring about the MCU when everything became a punchline to a joke.
Also, after seeing a glimpse of project Century, it's all I want to see from RGG at the moment.
@tameshiyaku
I also want more of Project Century. What they showed at the Game Awards looked flippin' cool, but I don't think we will see much until the third quarter.
