Community is a huge part of what makes Push Square special. We've always enjoyed interacting with our readers, whether it's through the comments section, polls, or quizzes — but we want to go one step further here in 2025.
In a move inspired by the gaming magazines of old (and our friends at Nintendo Life, admittedly), we want to start publishing a monthly 'letters' feature here on Push Square, where we spotlight the opinions of our readership — and answer any questions that you might have.
Again, this will be a monthly occurrence, and we encourage absolutely everyone and anyone to get in touch. You can do so by clicking through to our Contact Us page.
Here's everything you need to know:
- Use our Contact Us page to submit your letter
- Make sure the 'Reader Letters' subject is selected
- Make sure to include your name and email address (only your name and / or Push Square username will be published in our article)
- Write your letter in the Message box
- Your submission must not exceed 300 words
- Each month, the writer of the best letter will be rewarded with a month’s subscription to our ad-free Supporter scheme
As for what kind of stuff you can send us, here are some suggestions:
- Your thoughts on a PlayStation game (recently released or otherwise)
- An experience you had with a PlayStation game (recently released or otherwise)
- Your thoughts on the gaming industry
- Your thoughts on recent news or trends in gaming
- Your thoughts on Push Square
- Questions about Push Square and how we do things (we'll try our best to answer)
- Feedback on our articles or reviews
The plan is to publish a Mailbox feature on the last Sunday of every month — starting on Sunday the 26th January — so get writing and you could be part of the first ever issue!
Thanks for visiting Push Square, and we look forward to reading your letters!

That is a lot of thoughts for 150 words.
Brilliant post and hearing stories from the fantastic community members will be cool. 👾👍🏻
Dear Push Square,
It all started in 3rd grade.....
Oof, this is a cool feature.
Awesome! I may write a love letter to my favourite franchise… Gran Turismo ❤️. Can’t wait to read others 👍
Really cool to see this become a regular addition to the site.
@Mikey856 and I might just write a love-letter to you mikey 😏
😲 oops did I just say that out loud?!?! 😉
I like this but i think the word count should be 45709....
@colonelkilgore well make sure it goes to the correct address this time 😁😂
I'm sorry to be the buzzkill here, but that word count limit is extreme for 2025. That is only ten words more than the original word count limit on Twitter. What for example is the advantage of submitting a letter to your mailbox as opposed to just starting a thread over on the forum?
I get that this is inspired by the gaming magazines of yore - I have good memories of them too - but that's the past. I'm struggling to see what this really adds to now.
Sent a letter in because I love to get involved in something new. Keep up the good work and a happy new year to all of the Pushsquare and Hookshot teams! (and all contributors too)
The most simplistic statement I could come up with over the recent Net Neutrality policy in the US (namely, that there is no longer a federally mandated policy) ran over 150 words. It's hard to talk about anything in ANY detail with that type a limit.
I'm going to write angry letters pretending to be Sammy's jilted lover and see if they get published
@RobN @LifeGirl We've upped it to 300 words based on immediate feedback!
"Your submission must not exceed 300 words"
Well, that's right out then....
I member...you member??
I love reading these on nintendo life. happy pushsqaure is going to start doing them too
Dear PS...when are these so-called scientists going to invent crisps that don't make my fingers greasy so I don't have to lick my phone after I reply to a comment?
@riceNpea crush the crisps, then you can just tip the whole bag in your mouth.
No greasy fingers.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I can't. I work as chief crisp taster at Walkers.
Pretty cool just like Nintendo Life offered. 300 is short but fair of a question/paragraph of something. Not a feature I would use but I do read the handful on Nintendo Life sometimes.
Does it have to be 'recent'/trends or based on articles you have published? Can it be old and a what if to relate a game or series or other industry stuff?
Like if I said:
"Do you think Under The Skin (Capcom and I guess in a way related to their poll in that prior article last year or an in general thing) or other party like games or even arcade games in general of the past got revived (any publisher, IP, etc.), do you think they have a chance with Streamers, updates to the game and so on in the modern era?
Compared to live service games?
Or audiences in general can for arcade games anymore? Do they have a chance to survive in the current gaming landscape?"
Something like that.
Like I don't see shooters of PS3/360 era that experimented have any chance to survive but it would be cool. Like 50 Cent/The Club with score systems or other mechanics. Same in other genres their ideas we don't see anymore.
Is that off topic because it's about an old game (while something like Okami sequel is news related, which is why I related it to the poll just encase) and not related to an article but still relates in the way of old games getting revived as a 'trend' I guess? Or somewhat mention of live service games? I know specifics I'm asking here XD but it helps clarify.
Just asking, like I get the relevance or not some harsh questions/posts that totally understandable, but just to know the limits. Then again this post is probably 300 words already anyway. XD
Another question would be "do you think games need questions for players to wonder about themes in them? Depends how they explore the themes and gameplay in them of course. Like Spec Ops The Line or others" Like we used to get in older games/tv shows?
But otherwise yeah it is mail so whatever goes I guess? Then just general questions.
@riceNpea Get Lineker to feed them to you, he will do anything for his walkers.
@UltimateOtaku91 I'd rather stick Lineker and Jermain Jenas into the crisp making machinery.
I like it! I've missed something like this on the site and think this could push (! ) Push Square to even higher levels of enjoyment.
This sounds awesome. I’ll have somewhere to send all my game reviews to. Love this idea.
@LifeGirl I see it’s now been updated to 300 words based on the feedback. However, Twitter’s limit was 140 characters rather than 140 words. It was quite a bit more limited. Still, 150 words wasn’t much so I’m glad they’ve expanded it.
