When you’re on top of the world like Marvel Rivals right now, you may as well just go for the freakin’ jugular. How about the Fantastic Four for Season 1 for starters?
As is the case with almost all the characters in the NetEase game, the quad squad look incredible, with a full trailer due on 6th January at approximately 8AM PST. This initial artwork already has over 40k likes on X (or Twitter), which gives you a good idea of just how big this game is right now.
We don’t really know what roles the Fantastic Four will adopt in the game just yet, but we expect Mr Fantastic and The Thing to be Vanguards. Some of the Human Torch’s abilities have already leaked, and they revolve around his fireballs, as you’d expect.
Adding four characters for the game’s first season seems wild, but NetEase may as well strike while the iron is hot. The crazy thing is that tons more characters are also on the way, with Blade and Ultron already confirmed, and the likes of Captain Marvel and Deadpool heavily rumoured.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of cadence the studio settles on and if it can keep everything adequately balanced. Assuming it can, then this game is going to take some stopping at this rate.

Not my type of game… but happy FF are getting some love.
I'm expecting The Thing & Reed Richards to be Vanguards, Johnny Storm to be duelist and Sue Storm to be strategist.
@AdamNovice according to the leaks Mr fantastic is actually a duelist but he has some vanguardish moves
I love the Marvel universe so I’m happy this game is doing well, but it’s definitely not my style of game. I hope other teams are taking notes when it comes to style and art direction because this game is crushing it.
Very moreish game, and it’s not particularly a genre I play a lot so I’m hyped for this! The character models and art style is very well done and polished.
I really like the artstyle they got going on Rivals.
This basically confirms the leaks, which means we will get Ultron next.
The game is good but the community are killing it. Hopefully new healers and tanks reduces the ridiculous amount of DPS instalocks who ruin matches.
@nessisonett Yep my eldest plays it and the teams are so unbalanced, it's all a bit daft. Great game and design though
4 characters added in one update? That's kind of unheard and of.
That is great concept art but I wonder how it'll translate into the game. A lot of designs are excellent while a lot are kinda crap. Also personal taste but the ultra armored Reed Richards is kinda ugly. Let him be a lanky freak in spandex.
