Monster Hunter Wilds is preparing for the hunt, which begins 28th February on PS5. In a new trailer that activated our unfortunately ironic (for an Australian) arachnophobia, we glimpse the kinds of scuttling, chitinous abominations that are generally contained within our nightmares.
Thankfully, we get to see more conventional Monster Hunter beasties, along with some cleansing snippets of story and gameplay. In other, less skin-crawling Monster Hunter news, Capcom imagines your regular hunting crew is incredibly photogenic, comprised of happy, successful individuals whose lives revolve around co-op hunting.

In addition, beloved Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida recently revealed that the scariest moment of his career was when the Monster Hunter series briefly became a 3DS exclusive.
Does the though of gnashing mandibles, webs, and far too many limbs activate a primal fear inside you? Has the Monster Hunter series featured such an explicitly spider-like monster before? Remember, in the comments section below, everyone is allowed one guilt-free fear (irrational or otherwise).

That second beta cant come soon enough, also the game.
The only thing that I'm interrested is singleplayer. Does it have proper offline singleplayer?
Heck yeah. Dang excited for beta and for the full game. Premium Deluxe version 😋
Gonna get this day 1. i really liked worlds. The problem was that after beating the game there was no motivation to do anything other than get a spwcific armoe, and after doing that, it was kinda boring.
Why is nobody mentioning the onimusha 2 port?
It just keeps looking better and better.
@djlard you can play the whole thing solo like every MH game, but offline? Probably not offline.
@breakneck I humbly revoke my claim. Onimusha 2! I'm so old.
N.i.c.e. but you going to need a heavy bowgun to beat that monster.monster Hunter world is one of the best video games ever made.and monster Hunter wilds is going to be incredible.word up son
@djlard not sure if it’s offline. (There’s an option for online solo lobby)
But it can be single player, and there will be AI hunters you can use to help (or the s.o.s flares online )
@Mintie OK it doesn't need to be completely offline (it's better) but at least completely singleplayer, like Outriders for example.
@djlard I tend to play the story single player and then only do team stuff when I need to grind for materials.
So Nerscylla was last in the game in MH4U, has a sleep ailment in her sting and was in the Monster Hunter movie (christ that was bad).
She's a fun fight, providing you're not arachnophobia. Really glad to see her back. Think gypsceros was last in 4U too, so another old school returning monster.
Highlight in this trailer for me was Gore Magala looking incredible. Which means potentially Chaotic Gore and Shagaru Magala in the game. I imagine we may see Velkhana back too, in the iceshard cliffs.
Really can't wait to see the roster of cool new monsters (flying centipede thing looks cool) and returning favourites.
So excited for this game, Monster Hunter is my most played series ever, and I'm practically vibrating in excitement
Oh and regarding questions about solo, I do think something was said about a single player mode that allowed you to pause the game, which would suggest singleplayer
Edit: just looked on the beta info and found this:
"Online Single Player
A mode where players can explore the wilds by themselves without joining a lobby.
The pause feature is also available in the Start Menu.
You can use an SOS Flare to temporarily play in a multiplayer session" .
