Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced their multiplayer spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign will release for PS5 and PS4 on 30th May 2025. Accompanied by hands-on preview articles — including our own take — the release date means Nightreign is right around the corner, only three months away from launch.
The game is available to pre-order now for £34.99 / $39.99 for the base version. A Deluxe Edition is also being offered for £47.99 / $54.99 that bundles in a digital artbook, soundtrack, and "additional DLC".

The confirmed release date marks a very quick turnaround for Elden Ring Nightreign, as it was only first revealed at the end of 2024 at The Game Awards. An online game for either one or three players, you'll do battle against classic bosses from both Elden Ring and Dark Souls, alongside completely new ones, as you work through a structured day and night cycle, all the while having your playspace reduced as a circle closes in around you.
Calling it the "most interesting PS5, PS4 multiplayer game of 2025" after a six-hour preview session, we said: "Elden Ring Nightreign is an exciting new venture from the famed RPG developer. By streamlining the best aspect of the base game and condensing it into a much more intense and focused co-op experience, it can’t be understated how much fun Nightreign is."
If you're looking to try the game for yourself, all the details on the beta test can be found through the link:
Now with an official release date of 30th May 2025, it won't be too long until we're all playing Elden Ring Nightreign for ourselves — and long into the quiet summer months. Were you expecting the title to be releasing so soon? Let us know in the comments below.

Weird to see this drop before the State of Play? Gotta wonder if this trailer is going to be a part of it
I've never gotten into the Souls games and the co-op is very appealing, but the lack of two-player co-op means I'll be waiting on a sale.
Got my code for the beta looking forward to having a shot over the weekend
200 bucks for THAT (or most) collectors edition is ridiculous
Love Elden Ring, but wont touch this with a barge pole!
When I saw all the recycled content, I assumed this was free-to-play...
Or at least owners of the $40 ER DLC would get it for free, but nope.
It's another paid multi-player game that could be (will be?) DOA in no time.
FromSoftware‘s games are among my favorite in the industry, but I just have no interest in this.
I don't see many playing this. I think this is purely a cash grab. And many gamers view it that way.
@GamerDad66 It'll do okay the first week or so and then dramatically drop off. Zero desire to play this.
