As was announced last month, an open beta test for upcoming fighter Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now available to download on PS5 and PS4. Everyone can dive in — you don't need a code or anything like that.
The beta boasts eight playable characters: Rock, Terry, Mai, Hotaru, B. Jenet, Preecha, Vox, and Kain. You can take them for a spin across Ranked and Casual online matches, or you can jump into a tutorial mode to get your bearings.
The test is set to last the whole weekend, starting today (Thursday the 20th February, just to be clear), and ending on Monday the 24th February.

City of the Wolves is still on track for its 24th April release date, so this beta makes for a significant milestone. Let's hope that the game's all-important rollback netcode holds up.
Will you be trying Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves this weekend? Don't you dare drop that combo in the comments section below.

The Steam charts says about 9,000 people were playing the beta test at its peak and I don't think those are bad numbers. I haven't even gotten around to it due to sleep and work.
SF6's beta was about 30k and it still is at about 25k 2 years later with spikes for new DLC. If COTW even launches at half the numbers of SF6 I will be very pleased.
I’ll have time to try it out, but not now unfortunately. Friday for sure.
Looking forward to trying this later! Wonder how much of Mai and Terry's meta will translate from SF6.
Preecha seems a bit on the nose...
So far pretty fun.
I just hope in the full release we can search for online matches while in training mode.
Gonna Download it tomorrow. Love the Bogard brothers.
Matchmaking is a mess and reminds me of KoF XV beta. Come on SNK, i thought you already learnt the lesson? :/
I am low-key kinda hating it. There is some clunkiness in the fights and I just can’t get into the flow of the battles. Also some of the mechanic is a bit too similar to SF’s drive system but at this rate, I’ll stick to that :/ I think Terry and Mai play much better in SF6 than here.
I really want to support this, maybe I will purchase it for offline play
