Like a Dragon developer, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, ably assisted by publisher SEGA, wants to turn some of the series' zany virtual in-game items into real-world merchandise in honour of its 20th anniversary, which falls on 8th December 2025. Fans have been asked to democratically whittle down a list of 100 items, including traffic cones, lingerie, karaoke microphones, themed body pillows, and much, much more.
On a tailor-made website (thanks, Eurogamer) that must be seen to be believed, these extremely deep-cut references to the series' long history are begging to be made into actual merchandise. Nanba's vinyl umbrella, Captain Majima's pirate hat, Nishiki's luxury cigarette lighter, and a complete set of Sujimon cards; it's all incredible stuff. You can vote once daily, and RGG "guarantees" that the top-ranked item will be commercialised within two years.

@CWill97 I agree, I wouldn't show them off but the way I'd be walking down the street, you'd know I was wearing them.
This is incredible stuff. I'm glad they're only guaranteeing one of these things will be commercially available because I'd go bankrupt if they made too many of them.
I hope they sell it worldwide because if so I will buy it for sure. Wonder what I should vote for...
