This may go down as one of the most shocking PS Plus updates in history, to be honest.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s commercial struggles have been well documented, but it launched approximately four months ago and is already debuting in Sony’s cheapest subscription tier. In truth, we’ve double-checked the information from the platform holder several times and still can’t quite believe it, but it is accurate.
BioWare’s latest is a great game, too, as we pointed out in our 8/10 review. “This is a gorgeous and gripping adventure, backed by a cast of endearing heroes and deliciously devious villains,” our resident fantasy fan Robert Ramsey wrote.
We were similarly complimentary of compilation Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, describing it as “radical” in our 8/10 review.
“While not every game is a winner – and a lot of them are variants of other games in the collection – there's still lots here to love,” wrote reviewer Scott McCrae. “It brings two of the most beloved beat-'em-ups in history to modern platforms, and is host to some hidden gems like Radical Rescue.”
The only real weak link this month, then, is Sonic Colors: Ultimate – which is still a decent remaster of a relatively well-loved game.
“This 11-year-old Sonic title is one worth experiencing, but just be aware of its rough edges before you spin dash into the action,” shrugged anthropomorphic animal fan Stephen Tailby in his 6/10 review.
