Civilization VII is officially out now on PS5, PS4 and PC, and players willing to pay for the privilege have been able to play for about a week. In a historical development we wouldn't have predicted, it seems there is still quite a bit of room for improvement (Push Square's review is still in the works), and players are somewhat mixed about precisely who developer Firaxis had in mind when designing the game's user interface (UI).

As lesser strategy games have lived or died by their controller and interface adaptations on PS5 and PS4, the good news is that PlayStation players jumping in for the series' debut day-and-date console release appear to be having a largely smooth go of things. Considering the series' PC heritage, it's interesting that players on that platform are already resorting to mods to smooth over some of its rougher interactive/information-giving elements.

Have you already picked up Civilization VII on PS5 or PS4? If so, what do you think of the game's control scheme and UI? Are you finding the essential information needed to succeed? Patiently wait for your turn in the comments section below.
