Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered launched right at the tail end of last year, and it's a lovely revamped collection of two PlayStation classics. In addition to its digital release, it'll soon be available at physical retail.
Yes, you'll be able to pop this title on your shelf at home, with not one but two physical editions launching on 13th June, 2025.
The standard edition is as you'd expect, simply offering the games themselves with no additional goodies. This retails for $29.99 or £24.99.
Alternatively, the deluxe edition comes packaged with a Steelbook case, an art book, and the original soundtrack on CD, all housed in one box. This will set you back $49.99 or £44.12.
Both versions are available to pre-order now on Amazon and other retailers.

We really liked the remaster collection in our review, praising the atmosphere, storytelling, and characters while noting that some areas have aged a little less gracefully.

Excellent news. I'll be having that.
This is what I was waiting for before putting this on my wishlist.
The people on eBay selling the physical copies from Limited Run for over $100 look pretty stupid right now. 😂
Hello there fellow gamers.
As a HUGE Legacy of Kain and specifically Soul Reaver fan, this is great news for me, since I always prefer to get physical games as much as possible.
Maybe one day the stars align, and we might get some of the original developer team members and Amy Henning to finish the story...... Some day.....
Cheers everyone
Preordered the deluxe edition this morning while sipping coffee and laughing at the limited run games overpriced collector's edition
Nice treat for those who want it and a nice to see it also having a cheap standard version rather than being blocked behind the steelbook only version.
Well I'm definitely double dipping for this ^__^
Already out of stock on amazon?
Were these remakes any good? Never got round to buying them but i might take a punt on the physical.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I would like to know the same as some one who has never played a game in the series lol
@Kidfunkadelic83 @zed
Not a remake, just remasters.
I just beat the first and am currently playing through the second. I never played these games when they were new, I just remember playing a demo disc. They are good, look pretty decent considering what they are…but they are true to the originals - there are no modern QOL additions…you will have to manually save, you have to remember where things are (the first game at least relies on a lot of areas needing revisiting), and if you die or quit the game you will start at the very beginning (there is a warp area nearby but a little tedious….I just learned to never quit the game, left it paused, and it’s difficult to actually die). Combat and camera is clunky, and some areas are more frustrating in design (easy to fall, etc) than particularly difficult. Directions on where / how to proceed in the game from the narrator can be vague at times. If you’re looking to play a classic and campy PS1/2 title with enhanced graphics, quirks and all, then you won’t be disappointed. But if lacking a modern play experience will turn you off, you may not enjoy it as much.
Stupid question maybe, but are the games fully loaded on the disc? (Can I play the games on PS5 in offlinemode?)
Looks like out of stock for the standard PS5 edition already? 🤔

That can't be 100% confirmed until the game actually releases. But for remasters like this, the answer is 99% chance it will be.
Very few PS5 games are not playable offline from the disc - no downloads required. In fact, I only know of one retro remaster ever released that wasn't complete on disc (Spyro Trilogy on PS4), and that was later fixed in a sneaky re-release.
I really wouldn't worry.
@kslight thanks brother. Appreciate the indepth reply 🙏
@Kidfunkadelic83 as someone who played through the originals multiple times each, these are the exact same games with a nice graphical upgrade. I'm having a ton of fun plowing through them again.
My patience of holding out will be rewarded!
Goodness knows why Broken Sword Reforged physical seems to have a new release date for July now, which multiple website stores now state. Sob.
@BiosNova Deluxe is. As for standard, that happens sometimes. Give it a couple days and it'll probably show.
Standard edition is showing out of stock for me, but that deluxe edition is really cheap for what it is, so I did what I never do - bought it immediately.
@IntrepidWombat
Yeah saw standard out of stock in US, just went for the deluxe instead. Preorders sold out on Limited Run as well which doesn't usually happen on there for an unnumbered distribution release, so seems a lot of demand for this one.
I'm so dang glad it's NOT a Limited Run Games exclusive. Their bs needs to stop.
@Bramble (#11) asking the real questions!
Excellent news definitely getting that deluxe edition will look nice next my deluxe edition of TR1-3 Remastered
