The remastered version of PS4 cult classic Days Gone will come with tons of new content, including six spangly new Trophies to unlock.
Writing on social media, developer Bend Studio teased the new trinkets PS5 players can look forward to, many of which revolve around new mode Horde Assault.
Here’s the full list of additions:
- More Freakers, More Problems
- Defeat an increased size horde in Horde Assault
- I’m On Top of the World
- Beat the target score for all levels in Horde Assault
- Freakshow
- Survive Horde Assault for 15 minutes
- Survivor
- Achieve max level in Horde Assault
- Dead Don’t Ride
- Complete the story of Days Gone in Permadeath mode on any difficulty
- Sarah’s Gift
- Find something important to Deacon that was thought lost
Horde Assault, for those who haven’t been keeping up, is an all-new arcade-style mode built around the original release’s memorable horde encounters.
If you recall, a big feature of the original game was its ability to render hundreds of Freakers on-screen. Using the power of the PS5, it’s increased the scale of these combat encounters, and you’ll now be tasked with surviving as long as you possibly can in order to earn points and unlock in-game rewards.
Another new feature represented in the Trophies is the permadeath mode, which turns the title into a full-blown survival game. Effectively you’ll need to complete the game without dying, although if you do make a mistake you’ll be able to use a single checkpoint to restart from the beginning of the campaign’s second act.
We’re also intrigued by the Trophy pertaining to the protagonist’s wife Sarah, we wonder if that’ll be a new collectible you need to find or something.
One other thing worth pointing out is that if you import your save from the PS4 version of the game, you’ll automatically unlock all of the Trophies you’ve earned before. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, for some reason, didn’t offer this feature, so it’s good to get confirmation of that.
Remember, those of you who already own Days Gone can upgrade to the remastered release for $10. Will you be revisiting this largely underrated open world? Let us know in the comments section below.

My guess is that Sarah’s Gift will be the original gas tank paint style for the bike, as Deacon specifically say’s it a gift from Sarah but there was no way for you to get it back after the prologue in the original game.
@Kachiun Good knowledge!
I'm among the people that cannot make use of the discount upgrade, so no reason will be good enough for me, I'm afraid. Though new trophies are always nice. I'd have hoped for a stronger reaction against this policy from Sony so they would be pressured to revert the decision. But doesn't seem like it's happening.
Really looking forward to this, enjoyed the original, and now new trophies to go along and all for a $10 upgrade
Not so sure I'll have the skills to unlock all of these - that Permadeath mode playthrough seems pretty unlikely in my case.
But I loved this game and it's one of the few I wish to go back and play again. The £10 upgrade made it a no brainer for me.
Looking forward to my first playtrhough of this. Bought it in a sale about 4 years ago but never got around to it. £10 duly paid, my body is ready
I think I would actually use the upgrade path if I could with this, but it's a bit of a joke
Bought the game originally on disc, then it was on PS plus and have since switched to mostly digital so no longer have the disc
Honestly I played very little of the ps4 game I got annoyed at a part where you had to find a gas tank. Looked everywhere to only realise it was right where I started 🤦🏻♂️. Not played it since that was in 2020 🤯 just checking my trophies 😮.
I love this game. I've been looking for an excuse to replay it so the £10 upgrade fee was justified immediately. Really looking forward to diving back in.
@themightyant It's a fun game! Hope you enjoy it!
I'd gladly give them my $ if they let everyone who claimed the game on PS+ have the $10 upgrade. They're losing out on sooooooooooooooo mush $$$ because of that nonsense.
@Almost_Ghostly it would be interesting to see how many would've upgraded for a tenner compared to how many will buy for £45. Would 4-5 times more people pay for the upgrade? Maybe. I certainly won't be buying full price again
According to PlayStation's own store I "already own another edition of this game"
Since i cant upgrade bc of the Plus version and there are plenty of new games i want to buy the coming months, i wont be buying this full price.
If anything these will put trophy hunters off playing it again.
Seeing as how I haven't replayed this since launch. I'm SO THERE. Hope this brings allot of new people to this game and it's gets the better recognition it deserves with the masses
I’m another who is disappointed that my PS+ copy doesn’t make me eligible for the discounted upgrade. I never got around to playing it and I reckon I’ll just play the original PS4 version which has a PS5 patch that reportedly makes the game quite a looker anyway and plays smoothly at 60 fps. Perhaps the reviews of the Remaster will convince me to part with $50 but I doubt it.
Oof. Well, at least we get a trophy called "Dead Don't Ride." Never understood why the went with "Days Gone." The working title "Dead Don't Ride" was sooooo much better and original.
I had a physical copy of this game for the longest time but never got around to playing it. I finally did a couple months ago and loved the game however I don't see myself jumping back in even with the new content/upgrades. Maybe because it's still fresh for me but does sound like fun for those who are jumping back in.
Great game but trophy’s are so tired.
@Weebleman Same! I was going to play it again over the easter break anyway
got the platinum on this cant wait to play it again
I’m a huge trophy hunter but I 1) didn’t like the game enough to platinum it again & 2) I’m not crazy about challenge mode trophies so………PASS
@themightyant same, I have this but never got round to it. 10 upgrade seems like the perfect time to get stuck in!
As I got the plat on the PS4 version, I won't be playing again, but I fully recommend for people who never played this sleeping hit!! This game is much better than the critics said, the story is solid, the gameplay only gets more engaging with the time invested. The world is intriguing, I really enjoyed my time there!!
Yet more hordes 😱 on permadeath mode oh fug
I read a week or two ago that it's basically an instant platinum pop IF you have it on PS4??? That will kinda stop me from buying it,I want to play through a game again, I want to do everything again and earn them? Not load it up and a auto platinum pops 🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤
If you never played this game, I can recommend it! The game's mechanics and lore is top-tier Zombie fun.
As for me, I played it twice, so I am moving on. I would like to see the graphics on a Pro though. Must be magic. Sadly, I opted out of the Pro.
Still kinda thinking about selling my OG digital edition launch model for 433 USD and trying to find a used Pro at the same time which MAYBE would sell for 833 USD (the equivalent of what I might find a used Pro for in my country's currency).
Just checked to find that Americans can get a new Pro for 700 dollars. That is cheap!
Already bought the upgrade. Days Gone is AMAZING!
Still bummed about full price upgrades for PS Plus owners. Its clear Sony doesn't understand its user base very well, or what motivates us to spend money, when they make these decisions. I played the PS Plus version (which we still paid for by paying for the service), absolutely loved it, even went back for a NG+ playthrough last year, and I would consider playing it again especially with upgraded graphics and new features. If they want my $10, they can have it. But the idea of shelling out $50 for a game I already "paid for", one that I've now owned for years, and have already played through multiple times is just silly.
Looking forward to the PS5 upgrade!!!
The worst part of this upgrade is i bought a ps5 pro. I have days gone on disk. So even though, I purchased it and would love to have it. I'm not willing to purchase either full price.
And its Sony who decided that the pro wouldn't come with a disc drive. Shame on them really
@Anke I'd imagine these will be separate from the main trophy list and won't be required for the platinum. Permadeath-related trophies are usually not part of the base trophy list but I could be wrong (I hope I'm not).
@KahnArtizt07 I hope you're right too as I'd love to go through it again, I only played it pre day one patch and it was about 10fps most of the time.
Napalm Molotov and shotgun what a combo, replayed this game so many times recently and traded the disc for another game might be a little bit too fresh in my mind and I'm not a trophy hunter. If I spot a copy cheap I might be tempted?
